***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

So what's the verdict? I have been holding off buying this, but it's getting harder and harder to resist the temptation.

I think I would be playing the classic mode because of time issues.
 
You still can it is just they do not accept 30million over instalments anymore. It was stupid before you could sign anyone that way, now you have to pay a bigger chunk upfront with less as instalments.

I noticed that on my Stoke save. Feels a lot more realistic...also I'm not winning every game I play which is good :D
 
Finally got the double hattrick, from Matthew Patterson on loan from Burton at Bishops Stortford!

The video is needed because our 2nd and their second was just stupid defending that needs laughing at.

It's 100% fine from what i have seen, although the starting background gave me a headache after 20 minutes. I then switched to a plainish background and 20% and its brilliant now.
 
Is anyone else finding it really easy? :S

With Truro (predicted 22nd) I have like 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. TYop of the table with 3 points over the second.

Finally not in admission anymore, so I bought a bunch of young players with good potential.

Ironically, I lost when I had a full team (22 players. Before i had like 3 players subs who were not under 18) and when I got them to good fitness, to a team that was 20th.

EDIT: Also, do you guys get achievements? I am getting none :/. I signed players, and scored goals, and got clean sheets, but I got no achievement.

Bottom end leagues in England are pretty easy if you know what you are doing. I'm top of the BSN with Bishops Stortford and have just bought Matthew Patterson for 5k :D

It's mostly down to having a decent selection of players that can just play the position you need from them in the formation they are all good at.

I am getting achievements though, not sure why you aren't.

Left attribute masking on (woops), so I have to re-start.
 
I've had attribute masking disabled throughout all the games. Like Fog of War, it's one of the things I find most annoying in gaming.

How slow do you reckon the Pentagon Challenge would run on a decent (but not gaming) laptop? My current save (just the full English leagues but with customized database of about 76,000 players) runs at about a star and a half I think, but seems pretty smooth to me.

Also, this may be quite an ignorant question but does the game process whilst you're filtering through information? I.e. if the game has a weekend of games to process, but prior to you clicking "next" you spend 5 minutes searching through other information, does the game start to pre-processing the results?

I have an E5200 @2.5GHz with 4GB RAM. It runs 'ok'. A bit slow but hey, what do you expect? When I start going up, I'll remove the smaller leagues.
 
Doing well with my Crewe save. Just wish I could have got Nick Powell or Ashley Westwood back on loan. Oh well. Max Clayton is awesome for me 7 goals in 11 games...

I am also 3rd with 6 Wins, 2 Draws and 3 Loses...GD +6 and 20 points...4 behind 1st...
