Never seen this before with my wages, normally you can always change your budget from transfer £ to wage £ yeah? I have 400K to spend in transfers but I'm -2k in wages with the slider all the way to the left?

wow that is weird. Do you have any special outgoings or anything? Normally you can ask the board to adjust your wage budget if you are in the red. It must be something to do with the boards budget percentage.

I've had this before on my unemployed save...I ended up leaving the club as a result of it.

I did some research apparently it can happen if you overspend wages too much the season before they put a cap on it. I didn't massively overspend (about 500pw) and the players got them the title I don't see a problem :p

I've just had an april fools in the game lol.. It said the board gave me a generous £500m to spend on a new stadium - I clicked accept and a box appeared saying 'April fools!' :D

Win the Bundesliga with Braunchweg!! Made it much harder than I had to though.

I was 6 points over Dortmund, and 8 over Bayern Munchen. With 3 games left, I had to get 4 points. My last 3 games were against Freiburg (finished 15th), Kaiserslautern (finished 9th), and Bayern Munchen.

I wanted to end it before the last game, as Bayern are a strong team (Champions League finalists). I lost my first game to Frieburg  Dortmund won, and Bayern drew. Next I beat Kaiserslautern and Dortmund lost (Bayern won). That means I won the league :D I ended up losing 2-1 to Bayern on the final day, and Dortmund lost too, which gives us the final table

1. Braunchweig 76pts
2. Bayern M. 75pts
3. Dortmund 71pts

So close :D:D

In the Champions League, I got eliminated by Bayern Munchen in the quarter finals. I managed to qualify from a tough group (Barcelona, Shaktar Donetsk and Spartak Moscow) with 11 points (2 wins vs Shaktar, 1 win and 1 draw vs Spartak, 1 draw and 1 loss vs Barcelona). I got drawn against Juventus (winners 2 years ago, and finalists 3 years ago. They won the Serie A in all the seasons). I managed to eliminate them 3-0 :D:D Then I got drawn against Bayern who beat me 3-0.

I managed to reach the final of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup). I beat Neurichken (sp), Bochum, Shalke, Mainz and HSV. I scored a total of 19 goals, and conceded 5. Now I play Dortmund in the final!

I won the German Super Cup 2-1 against Bayern M.

Everything has been sky rocketing. My reputation, player value etc. have been going up. I tend to sign player to long term, low wage contracts. This is because I don't generate a lot of money, and I rely heavily on prize money. My stadium is only 25k, and its constantly full, but my board doesn't want to build a new stadium (reached expansion possibility). I do have a balance of +70M though, so I'm fine on finances. Its good enough that I am rejecting 20M and 30M offers for some of my players. The board is constantly upgrading the facilities though, so I can't fault that. They went up from a 2* (something like that) to 4*, and they are being upgraded right now.

EDIT: Lost 1-0 to Dortmund. Yay -.-'

I managed to get Digne on a free (he was on loan). His wages are a staggering 50k/w. I currently have only 1 player over 50k, and he is worth some 25M :D I signed Moritz Leitner for just 250k. he was on loan with me, paying 0 wages and 0 fee. his future fee was set to 250k. Not sure what Dortmund were thinking at such low prices. i could have loaned him again for 3k monthly fee, and 50% of his 33k/w wages, but I decided to purchase him for 250k. His wages are now 50k/w too.

The board decided they can expand the stadium, and I am getting an extra ~5k seats for 6M. Also racked in an extra 13M from the Champions League. Don't ask why :D

So, a few updates. No more Will Hughes.

He didn't improve much, and at 23, I felt that he couldn't improve that much. Sold him for 7.5M and got another player (4.5* potential, 18 years) for 3M.

Next, I got this offer for a top top player.

Rejected. He is worth more than that! And his wages are less than 20k/w lol.

But I got this offer.

Angel Correa. Bought 2 1/2 seasons ago fro 3.1M 47 goals in 92 appearances (started in 68). He became part of the Argentinian first team and he was called up to the World Cup. At first i rejected, but then I thought it up again. For 45M I can get someone of his calibre. I cheated a bit and I checked his Genie Scout rating. 159 CA, 162 PA. He won't improve much more, even though he is good right now. I think I will part ways, provided I find a decent player instead. Those 45M will really help the financial situation.

Noticed I didn't show any pictures. My bad.

Montgomerie:

He was bought for just under 8M from Ross County, when his value was just 200k. At 23, he can still improve I feel.

Correa:

The problem is finding a 30M replacement for Correa. All the good strikers are valued way over 45M. But I'll find someone :D:p

owch, The__Malteser. i got rid of will for 41 mill

correa is beatst tho. thinking about getting him from dortmund

Yes. I know he develops great. He just wasn't doing it for me. His performances weren't great either. I think he stayed too much at Derby, which pretty much stalled his development. He progressed very little whilst he was playing for me, which is a bit disappointing. I had high hoped for him

Correa is a beast. I got him for cheap and sold him for a lot (he is sold. 45M). I have 2 replacements for him, costing around 7.5M together. I might have lost a top player, but I gained A LOT of cash. He was my top earner too, 55k/w. The new guys' wages combined will be around 55k/w too.

Right, so I am about to wrap up my transfer season and play the super cup final. Bayern's coach leaves for Germany after a disappointing World Cup campaign. Bayern offer me an interview.

I save, cause I'm unsure, but you know, I want to test the waters. I holiday for a bit and guess what, they offer me the job. So now I'm stuck.

Go to Bayern, 93M transfer budget, some 3M/w of wage budget, rather than 30M transfer budget and 800k/w wage budget at Braunchweig.

Players will only develop well with lots of first team experience and exceptional training facilities. Worth keeping in mind.

I know. I have played FM for ages. I have 4* training facilities. Not the best, but not bad either. Hughes played in 66 games in 2 years. he started in 36 of those. Generally, he finished a lot of the ones he started. I also got experienced players to tutor him. Players like Montgomerie (who might have played a maximum of 10 games more) has significantly improved. Hughes has 2 goals and 8 assists over 2 seasons.

Yeah that is interesting how some develop faster than others. I'm testing it out on my current save. It seems to depend on a few factors. Obviously their age is a consideration. If you have a youngster, and keep them in the club with the top training facilities then I'm guessing, providing they have potential of course, they will improve substantially. If you buy a player who is in their early 20's then there is less chance they will improve to the same level, even with the potential. That said, if you buy a player in their early 20's who has been at a top club then maybe they will improve equally as well. But then first team experience on top of that is a must. I don't know for sure exactly how it works. But in two concurrent saves I have Will Hughes (two different ability teams) and he has grown differently in both.

Hughes had over 15 goals in one season in one of the saves.

Probably my Hughes was in the lower bracket of the PA.

For those who don't know, FM PA is defined by a rating bracket. Players can be -10, -9, -8 till -1. -10 will give you a PA between 181-200, -9 161-180 etc.

My Hughes could be low 160s, whilst yours can be high 180.

Back to back promotions now with Paris FC into Ligue 1, £5m to spend to rebuild almost the whole team - what's left of my current team will mostly become backups so it will be quite the challenge! Getting some pretty decent regens there too, loads of 14/15year olds with stats of an average 18yo already sold 1 or 2 to help fund the new stadium. Can't wait to beat the arch rivals PSG!
