The big names have already been mentioned. Angel Correa worked well for me on my Entrecht Braunschweig (sp) save. He is not tall. he is more the short and fast type, but his growth was incredible. Sold for around 35M if I recall. Can be had for as low as 5M and 20k/w wages.

Made a declaration of my interest in Lewandowski. He wasn't exactly excited. Bayern turned down my £30m bid, he's worth £26m. Have made an offer of £34m I think.

Yeah. Will see what they say, might offer £36/37m if I have to but I think more than that is silly money and might as well go for someone a bit younger. Aguero would come back into the frame perhaps.

Just a bit narked that I was prepared for Van Persie to stay for another season, promised him a Champions League win and in come Real again and I knew I couldn't refuse it. Makes financial sense as well, £30m for a 32 year old and £185k off the wages. I'm just concerned that if I can't get Lewandowski or Aguero I'm into uncharted territory regarding knowing who to get in. Definitely not going to get Balotelli in! I would prefer an established name I know so I have a few years to find a younger prospect to bring through rather than go for someone I don't know much about in real life and make them my main striker. A lot of the names mentioned are for players under 23/4 who can probably get to near Van Persie levels but not for a few years yet.

Had a scout report from him saying he's a definite purchase but to consider the fans opinion of him. It really is remarkable how far FM has come eh!

Yeah, same on my save, but he was quite undervalued, playing a maximum of 20 games incl. subs. I think he went for something like €20 from Real

Yay, started a fresh save as Peterborough (my home town). I've got them back into the champs after their first season in League 1. Pretty pleased with that. I only spent £2 million during the entire season as well. Pretty good for me when I'm used to spending £100 million

Kind of ironic too - I got beaten in the Johnstones Paint in the final, and could have ended up in the playoffs quite easily, (as their real life counterparts). What does this say for the game?

Just signed a 35year old Cristiano Ronaldo on a free £40kpw for a laugh at Man united...played 90mins in first game with severely lacking match fitness getting an assist and a goal

even had better condition % at the end than a few others.

Hoping to get him on my staff when he's done playing, should be an incredible coach with those mental stats?

haha yeah that's a good point. I do enjoy trying to keep them on-board. Great for coaching. I don't know if I run into a bug though. I had a 37 year old striker on my books who was pretty good - but I asked him to reduce his demands and he said he would let the young talent take over. But every time I went to renew his contract he only wanted to be a 'key' player. I wanted to keep him as a coach, which he agreed to. As soon as they agree, they have staff attributes appear. I've never actually seen that before in all my hours on FM. But he wouldn't let me change his contract to player/coach, so I had to let him go. He was on £9k per week too, and my most expensive player wage wise.

No go on Lewandowksi or Aguero. Even offering £50m won't make either of the clubs budge. Can't understand why Aguero isn't moaning more as he wants to be listed, wants to leave for a club in the Champions League and City are refusing bids for him.

Keep making bids anyway, I think they get more annoyed with each rejected bid. Assuming it works the same as when it's your player, when they ask why you rejected it etc etc. I had a similar situation with a defender at Arsenal when they went out of CL, eventually they put a price tag on him.

Yeah, been doing that. Aguero is now transfer listed by request. City want £160m for him. Made a bid of £40m and it went to £65m up front and £14m or so over 18 months. I'd prefer Lewandowski as I think I've got more chance of getting him considering City are rivals yet City aren't in the Champions League and I can offer Aguero that.

in my documents I have two sports in..... folders, each with different things, for these graphics packs, which one needs the graphic folder in it?

Because I've downloaded the player icon pack ( thanks malteser) but it's either not in the right folder or I don't know where those images appear as I can't see them when I search for players.

Thoughts?

It goes in the one with more folders inside. I think you have to tick "reload skin on save" or something in interface preferences as well.

yeah ive cleared cache and reloaded skin.

You are seeing two folders because that is the libraries section your looking at.

user name/my documents/sports interactive/football manager 2014/graphics

yes your saves should be in this location same with other things like tactics, shortlists and so on.

Transfer deadline came and went. Submitted dozens of bids for Aguero and Lewandowski. Each one knocked back. Amusingly, after the deadline I was able to declare an interest in Aguero. This time he said that playing for Utd was a dream and would welcome a bid. I submit a bid for a January transfer, it gets rejected. Aguero's agent offers me the player and says I need to agree a fee with City.
