I may reinstall over the weekend and see if that stops it.

Another school boy error is I went to RB racing with vettel and when I watched a replay I saw the name
mark webber down the side of the my :( CM done a pee poor job with this game.

Seems it's mostly a test bed for 2011. To be fair I'd rather at least have this to play until 2011 comes out then have to wait even longer.

This game is peeing me off. It ran flawlessly (apart from the in game bugs ;)) Pre-patch.

Now I've starting getting the game freezing on me, for example. I finish the practise session at Spa, the game says 'Loading' in the stop right corner, but the spinning symbol freezes and the game goes no further. Requiring you to force close it via Task Manager.

When you load back up it has saved your progress fortunately. Still... it's very annoying!

I've noticed this happening a lot too, wasnt doing it before either.

i've had it where the ingame slows down then afew moments later it crashs, (just a black screen) only way to close it is to force close it via Task Manager.

First time i have ever messed around doing time trials and i managed to get into 91st on the leaderboard on spa in the dry with a 1:42:880

There is probably a good 1/2 sec i can cut on that if i can be arsed as the one i did was a bit scrappy. I haven't botherd with multiplayer or timetrials because im enjoying my carear so much

I did a 40% race in my career at istanbull, which is an awesome circuit, also, i remembered it from playing it countless times in either toca3 or grid, which i was surprised about. It was a wet race, bit drizzly at the start so on inters, it was my first time in wet on the game so i i treated the first race as a bit of a tester for the car, spun a few times, worked out what the car was capable of in the wet then restarted the race. Really annoyed a back marker got in my way and i ended up cutting a corner, i'd already done this by mistake on a coupl eof the slow corners and i ended up with a 20 second penalty which put me 3rd after crossing teh line 1st, a little annoying but not too bad considering i was in the lotus :p i think i need to put the ai up again. One thing i have noticed though, is that i got faster times than the real drivers got and i use and xbox controller with no help except med tc.

Is this an issue with codemaster, or is it simply impossible to create cars with the spec of the real car and tracks precisely to scale of the real tracks without the game being faster?

I see CaliforniaGuy is back ruining the time trial leader boards. My mate commented he now has a 1 in his name instead of an i, so a new account.

Me and my 3 mates are doing a 20% quali and race championship. We're keeping track of the normal final standings aswell as quali positions and split times at the end of the race. We're using the really old points system (10,6,4,3) but 0 for a DNF (which my mate got at Catayluna when he hit pit wall!) which is proving well, currently 1 point ahead going into Turkey.

We finished with Monte Carlo last night, it defaulted to wets in quali, it was raining that hard. Infact, I've never seen rain so hard on F1 2010! Race was dry and fine for me til I glanced of a wall going into the swimming pool in 2nd last lap. Finished 2nd which wasn't too bad....

I wish Codemasters would sort this GPU and wet conditions problem out. I added the line in my hardware config file to get the track conditions right again, and ever since I can't get the game to run at 60fps anymore.

That fix codemasters provided rapes performance, thankfully it never dips below 35fps on any track but even so..

My rig can handle this game at 60fps v sync, and it was before the patch and the **** up with the wet weather racing afterwards that codemasters failed to fix correctly.

Its perfectly playable at average 40fps but I know it can do better and feel sorry for this with lesser rigs and trying to run post patch with the wet weather on track fixes in the hardware config file.

There's two real problems, firstly is that no piece of software (yet written at least) can really provide a 100% accurate simulation of the real world,

The other and more specific problem is that Codemasters didn't even try to do that, they went for the arcade style of game which is the bigger market, rather than the hardcore sim market which is a lot smaller and arguably harder to please (although we'll accept worse graphics, we just won't accept shoddy physics models/lack of feedback :p)

If you want an accurate portrayal of an F1 car in a pc game you've only got 2 options imo:
Ferrari Virtual Academy -- the 2010 F10 based on a modified NetKar engine
iRacing -- 2009 Williams FW31

Haven't personally played the Ferrari one, but the FW31 in iRacing is utterly fantastic to drive (I haven't touched F1 2010 since they released it a couple of weeks ago...), and it's also worth noting that at Silverstone at least the times people were setting were (as far as I saw at least) generally slower than the real life times from 2009, which you'd kinda expect :p

I have huge audio problems, as soon as the engineer starts to speak in the race the audio is messed up, is it normal I can't select hardware audio with an (ancient) Audigy 2?

I don't think anyone can pick hardware from the options. I have the software option(not 3D).

I hope they bring out a patch very soon or I am going to ask for my money back via TS.
