seems like they forgot to remove the console blurry effect to hide the bad textures or something :S nowhere near the clarity you expect from a pc game at that res, seems they are using a crappy filter like they did in grid aswell hopefully someone brings out a mod to remove it ASAP

If your using a GTX 4xx then low GPU usage is a common problem that Nvidia are working on, its not just with this game.

ive never had it with any other games though and werent the latest drivers suposed to correct it for people who were having low GPU utilisation?

non of the other 15 or so games ive played since getting a 460 have had low gpu utilisation

may i interject

the game is not released oficially yet.

to get the game to work, i can only assume that some crack has been used.

i dont care how you got it to work or what you used, but you know you shouldnt be going on about it.

noones cracking anything connect to american proxy > load steam :D

if you trick steam into thinking your in america it unlocks your game because in some countries the game is already released since a few hours ago.

its not exactly illegal and doestnt apear to be against steams T&C's (people have done the same thing with CIV5 which is how some people in that thread have unlocked that game to)

if you still dont want people talking about it then im sure we will all respect your decision and go elsewhere until the uk release date

I'm assuming most people are just unlocking it via VPN on Steam - so they're playing the full retail game :(

I'm off to bed - but I expect to wake up with some results people! :p

For some reason this Finnish shop (Gigantti) sent some pre-orders last Thursday so most of them arrived this Monday or Tuesday. No one knows why they sent copies so early but they did and as this is not a Steamworks title, the game was playable right away.

But fair enough, probably better to wait until the 24th before talking more about the game..
 
I hope I can play this - seems like quite a resource intensive game.

I should be getting my boxed copy today (it was posted yesterday) so it isn't long before I find out.

What setup you using? Get abolutely none here with my Loogitech EX. Have to admit was expecting better graphics - but then Bahrain is quite plain and I haven't raced in the rain yet. We really need DX11 though. The cars handle great though.

Not at all. Just connecting to Steam via VPN. We have paid for our copies and I can't see anything anywhere that says it is against any Terms and Conditions.
 
Having got a second 5850 yesterday to ensure i could run everything at full whack, id be really disapointed if crossfire is not working on this, especially as on Dirt 2, it works flawlessly!
 
My copy has been delivered.. Just loaded it up and so far its as expected a very poor console port. The game seems to be only utilising one cpu core and my Gpu usage is rather low as well on a 460 GTX...
The graphics are ok ish, Some bits are better than others. Monaco looks nice as long as you are going fast otherwise the poor textures are very noticeable.
No slowdown with max settings at 1920x1080 everything runs very well even in the wet.

Its a big let down for Pc gaming, This is a cut and paste console job through and through.

Lets hope it hs some epic online races to be had as i,m sure this is where the game will excell and the ropey graphics will be forgotten....

Thats something i suppose!

I think ill install it without the key to start with when it arrives today, (assuming it does) and should it not run flawlessly, ill sell it and pick up the 360 version instead.

I suppose we may not get the full PC experience till the DX11 patch comes out (we had to wait a while for dirt 2 for that to be optimised for PC)
