***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

By the sounds of it the cars are a lot faster than real life :(

In fairness, the times people were able to set in time trial in F1 2010 are a lot faster than real life (as someone mentioned in that Codemasters forum thread, a 1:36:xxx isn't beyond the realms of possibility if you've got a knack for the game -- even I managed to get sub-1:40). If they've kept the tracks the same (bar texture and other graphical updates), making the AI able to match some of the more decent TT times is probably as good as it's going to get in regards to more challenging AI (rather than re-modelling the tracks and taking it from there).

Yeh, very true.

It wont bother that much though, as long as the AI is challenging.

It's only because in America, new releases come out on Tuesdays and in Britain they come out on Fridays.

If you buy it on Steam I imagine you'll be able to play it in US time using a VPN?

yes, i believe you can.

i'm just waiting for my Play pre-order. Hopefully will get by Thursday! :p

i won't hold out all that much hope though.

Be that as it may, I don't see why it couldn't be released in Europe this Friday (as peterattheboro mentioned) and then have the US release next Tuesday. Alternatively, have the EU release date as next Friday (what it is anyway) and just push the US release to the following Tuesday (so the 27th).

I mean, it's not the end of the world, but I don't see why the US are invariably the first to get things. Oh well... at least those who pre-ordered on Steam can just use a VPN.

There's no rule to release games in Europe on Friday. The publisher decides the dates and that's that. Many games have worldwide releases on Tuesday, big and small releases. It's really just up to the publisher to decide the dates. The more publishers decide to go for a simultaneous worldwide release, the better and that's why we as customers should push the publishers towards changing their archaic system. Some customers probably don't care but a lot of us do care.

Also the other week NHL12 was released in Europe on Friday and in North America (where the big market for NHL12 is anyway) the following Tuesday so that's not out of the question either.
