***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

Do you still spin so easily at corners such as the final chicane at catalunya?

Yes. :) You need to be quick on the brakes to straighten the car up if you start a spin, but really you should be coasting or 10% throttle until you have opened the steering. Curbs are not as dangerous though. Could never get the first chicane at Monza.

I'd say no, as I didn't spin once despite doing countless laps. I also feel I was attacking that chicane - something I could rarely pull off in F1 2010.

So with DRS and KERS can you significantly challenge AI on the straights?

The slip streaming in 2010 was rather pitiful and nothing in comparison to the fun I had in GRID in the BMW series. Unless you had a better corner exit by some margin you wouldn't challenge in any way even on long straights at Spa and Monza.

So got mine and impressions so far.....not that great.

Got stuck in windowed mode...sorted now.
Why cant the menus be at the same resolution as the game?
See they still have the Nazi Fascist stewards around the tracks...
GFWL.....why wont you connect for me?

Views may change over time, but am not that impressed so far. Seems very much like the last one to me.

My initial impressions

Graphics are nice but not amazing. Performance is excellent at 1080p/ultra.

AI on Legend are quite fast on the tracks I've tried.

KERS and DRS are fun and a nice challenge and distraction in races.

I need to test tyre temps more but you definatley have less grip with fresh boots unitll they warm up, which is nice.

Handling - With assists off it feels no different from last year to me which is disappointing. braking is a non event and I still dont feel much happening at the rear wheels either.

Pitstops - Havent been held in the pits, but it's all far too automated now.

Replays are dire, worse than last year.

I can see myself going back to rfactor but its a decenbt effort. Mods will improve it a lot no doubt.
