***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

Just finished my first actual race, 50% distance singapore (God, its an awful track) really enjoyed it but the AI when you are coming up to lap them is a bit dimwited. I smacked into the wall something like 5 times as they weaved all around.

Anybody else using an F430 and having issues with the throttle deadzone?

In game, I have at least an inch of travel before any throttle is applied, this is with the deadzone in game set to 0%. It's a real problem because there is then not enough throttle range to be accurate and it becomes much more digital.

I've checked in the TM control panel and the throttle is working correctly, it registers the instant you touch it and runs smoothly all the way to 100% so it must be something in game that is forcing a dead zone even when it's set to zero.

Gradually getting into it and finding a wheel setup that works for me, race department has plenty of those thankfully and starting to enjoy it, foot aches from the brake pedal though.

MP races have been a bit hit and miss, had a good couple on spa just now but most have been lagfest and the usual bunch of kamikaze drivers or those who quit if they aren't leading on lap 2, whereas I'm just wondering what corner will be next most of the time as I don't know half the tracks :P

just started playing and practicing around melbourne. What is a reasonable newbie time? How should I know what setup adjustments might help?

Well I've just done the 1st race of my career with Williams, got it set on "Hard" difficulty with all aids off using a Logitech G25 with the default wheel settings and I'm impressed with the game straight out the box.

Managed to qualify 2nd and came in to finish 3rd at Melbourne so all in all a pretty good start to my season :D

Has anyone come across any wheel setting which they consider to be an improvement to the default settings at all?

Stu

Sparc with half a wing. Don't worry I fixed his wing problem.

The sexy guy I was talking about.

Some decent racing in parts.

I know the tail end races were kind of muck arounds maybe bar the last 2 until a certain something happened.

But in the early races far too many people trying to weave into first or some **** on the first corner, great if you can do it competently like RC10 could do but I think people need to hang back at the start and only gain a position if you over take before the corner until everyone is better.

Far too many peoples races were over by the first corner.

Was good fun but irratating at times.
Also mumble shouldn't be used for self commentary/narration and i'm guilty of talking to much but perhaps others using it waaaaaaaaaay too much :p?

(Murray you are a dirty ****er ;D)

Apparently the graphics were toned down for this game so consoles could handle 16 player.

Infuriates me that developers resort to cheap nasty console ports.

I don't think I will ever race online again tbh. Will just get picked on again. Will stick to single player alone where I belong.

Murray was only keeping you going.

Try and keep mumble clear during the race.
And don't take the law into your own hands if someone else makes a mistake and think you can take them out =/.

Don't take stuff personally.
