** Official Fuelly Thread - Post your MPG **

I really don't get it - I don't drive fast everywhere, on average I probably only get the revs up near the redline maybe once or twice a day if that. I maintain 70-80 on the clocks on the motorway and keep to speed limits in urban areas. So why on earth do I get such low mpg in both the MR2 and Golf? £45 tank of optimax gets me 280 miles on average.

Nothing to do with the redline - its about your driving style generally, how hard you're braking etc

What's that? 30mpg? That's expected. Town driving kills fuel economy, so its balances out the mid 30s, maybe high 30s you get on the motorways.

Last tank of fuel gave me 30.6MPG on a Civic Type-R FN2

any pictures of it yet?

changed the lambda sensors recently? you'll be surprised how much difference new ones can make.

Combined :(

I also have a heavy foot so it can be improved :) (Slightly ;))

Har Har Har!

I like these threads :D

Best I've had (Average readout after a trip) was 60.3 mpg, but that was deliberately driving like a granny from the centre of Middlesbrough to Thirsk.

I normally average 48-50mpg, with a bit of spirited driving it goes down to about 43-45 (unless I really boot it or drive in town a lot), being a bit careful and driving at 70 instead of slightly above I get over 50 easy :)

Fox must use magic petrol, because no other 6cyl BMW owner gets the 39mpg that he supposedly gets :D

Guess somebody still smarts from learning the 323i is pointless and they should have got a 328i eh ;)

Never once claimed 39mpg is a realistic day to day average - it was a one trip figure on a 300 mile Motorway journey.

Currently my average stands at 32.4mpg after driving up the M3 from Southampton, into Heathrow, around the M25 at rush hour, up to Worcester then just local running around for the last 4 days.

My Saab 9-5 Aero 2.3 turbo will do...

Motorway anywhere between 38-42mpg depending on traffic conditions and speed.

I average with a mix of motorway and local roads 31-34mpg.

A little better than my older one which I'm happy about.

In the derv, I used to average 48mpg - 60 on a run, and 35-40 in town.

The ti has the most subjective economy of any car I've owned - take it easy on the motorway and you can nudge 40mpg, but boot it and you're almost in single figures! :p

Since I've had it, average is bang on 30mpg, a lot of commuting in there.
To Silverstone and back this weekend I got bang on 40.
