fantastic board regarding voltages,just 1.188v for 4.5ghz

Does the flashing 2nd bios ALT+F10 work for the UP4?? Or is it different keys?? I have been trying to update it since i did f9b and for the love of god its not happening! lol

Did you try looking in the manual? I'm not sure how to do it on mine either, but happy to leave the second BIOS as it is.

I read somewhere that both should be flashed to the same for stability, but is that true?

Wazza, I hope I'm as lucky as you tomorrow. :D As for voltages I think it's just the chip, the voltages however are very stable and hardly any vdroop or drop. :)

My 3570K was 1.28V for 4.5GHz.

It's alt and f10 or f12,can never remember exactly

I hope so too Brian after what you've been through,4.5ghz will suit me,I'm not fussed for higher

I put 1.050 in and it was still showing as 1.040. Changed it to 1.060 and its showing as 1.060.

I have left the DDR to 1.5 (for now)

It will drop under load, you can set LLC for it at 1.050 to Extreme and it should put it up when at load but be lower at idle, I like it this way.

Apparently having both BIOS the same can eliminate any dual booting.

And as I said in post#191, try different combinations, it will work.

On a UP7?? Drool, shame about dat cpu cooler on that board lol.

I cannot get my board to go into the backup BIOS...I've tried holding ALT+F10, spamming ALT+F10, but always ends up in the bloody boot menu. :p

Pushing ALT+F10 does nothing for me on my UP4 TH, but ALT+F12 brings up a DualBIOS menu where I can select a drive to boot from including my USB stick but doing that just opens something where I can type kernel names. Anyone explain? I'll try find a guide...

Do I need to be using the 2nd BIOS to do this? Is there a switch on my board? :D

Taken a few weeks, but my Gigabyte Z77X-UP5 TH will be here soon, wish I could say more, but I'm totally over the moon about something. ;)

Good review of the Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH. Quite amusing that it uses lower voltage compared to the Asus Maximus V Gene haha! :p as well as the Gigabyte Z77 UD5H.

There is no switch on the board, it should just work.

You can tell me by message.

It should work yeah. Really not getting on with the F9 BIOS, it does not overclock well for me. Seem's to be a lot of additional bloated options which don't really do anything. I would love to see an option to disable thunderbolt controller like disabling the LAN/Audio controllers.

Update: Now it's deciding to play ball after failing to boot on every overclock for the past 10 minutes, has returned back to normal, quite odd. Still can't get into that menu, it's tricky.

Could you please explain how and when, and if you had the BIOS set to default etc? I have tried pressing alt+F10 from the start and after the beep continuously many times now, so frustrating. :D

As soon as I pressed the power button, I was like Speedy Gonzales on the two keys.

The BIOS was at err 4.5Ghz (cant remember now)

Thanks, exactly what I was doing lol. I flashed back to F8 and it worked first time. F9 would just hang if I tried it.

My overclocking problems seem to be narrowed down to disabling CPU Internal PLL overvoltage, gonna read up on that. :)

Yet...now I disabled the PLL overvoltage and it boot's fine. Randomly won't boot with my overclock, really weird.

Booted this morning, failed. Enabled PLL overvoltage (AUTO), success. WHY? :D

Just got myself one of these lovely looking boards, so far I'm impressed. Though I have came across a couple of minor grumbles with the board:

No clear CMOS button & clearing the CMOS is only possible by placing a screwdriver on the 2 jumper pins or removing the CMOS battery of course.

Despite setting the options in the BIOS so that all case fans are to run on silent, the rear one does run silent but my front which is is connected to SYS_FAN2 does not and always runs at full speed. (the rear fan is connected to SYS_FAN1).

Read my full thread regarding an issue with the boot priorities in the BIOS: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18458712

Any ideas regarding the case fans & the BIOS query guys? Anyway, despite this little niggly things my rig so far is running great. I've also got a Fractal Design R3 case on the way which I'm looking forward to run it all with :)
