**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

Hey guys,

Dino from GIGABYTE here. Was this a clean install of Win8.1 and then installation of App centre from the website?

please let me know what specs you have in your systems, how you went about installing software (clean or upgrade), app from CD or website etc.

I'll let the software team know when i have better info so we can fix that as i really like app centre and it should work to make it a bit more convenient to keep up with updates.

Welcome Dinos22:)

+1, You are most welcome.
Quick question Dino - why is the latest x bios only using the old style bios interface - I liked the opportunity to switch between the two - you cant now though :( Have reverted back to version XO2.

fair question. X bioses are meant to me tuned for extreme OC mainly and majority of people use classic mode to navigate quicker. There are some uses for new GUI though so i'll see if they can bring it back perhaps for those that do use it.

What do you like about new GUI? :)

Hey Dino,

Nice of you too reply as I know you are very busy person. I just like the fact that you can see an overall picture of voltages temps etc - plus I shamefully have to admit I like it - nothing more than that really - looks modern and up to date. Would be great if they could add this back in in the later x bioses - best of both worlds, win, win.

All the best to you

Hey 8Pack - how you doing? Take it that the third comment was aimed at me Lol - I agree we don't need it - but it is nice and functional, plus it looks pretty, again Lol. I can make do though if need be as I am old school after all.

hahaha liquid! How are ya mate?

actually there are some things i use the new GUI for when extracting max out of RAM or bclock range. it's the real time OC ability that does come in handy. it will come back in later X bioses once they do some reworking of a couple of things

Hi guys,

Just bought one of these, do I need to install all of these apps listed in the OP and all of the drivers or windows 7 of install the drivers for me automatically?

I am looking to overclock my 4770k that I bought with it, are there any guides to setting up a basic 4.2ghz overclock. Just need to get my head around everything that this board has to offer. Its a bit different to my p5k!

Have a read of this:

Yeah good mate!!

Yeah it does help to see if you get freeze immediately on pushing frequency. Other features of the X Bios are more important though, like memory training disable etc.

hi guys, i bought some team vulcan red 2400mhz 8gb ram to go in this board, in CPU-z it says it is running at 667mhz. Do I need to slide up the memory divider in the bios to 2400mhz?

here are some pictures of what I have done so far. Gone for a 4.2ghz oc on the cpu and have now upped the memory divider to bring the memory speed up. If anyone spots anything that I have done horribly wrong would appreciate the advice! what is a normal idle and load temp for this cpu when overclocked?
