**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

Enjoying the board so far, I have to agree with some other posts the boot loops on first install i took with a pinch of salt. After a few times they stopped and everything boots fine. Just updated the bios to F6 and go my ram going at its XMP settings... so far no problems, now the joy of OCing, will let you know results or errors...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but on this board, how do you adjust QPI/VTT voltage?

I occasionally get some BSOD with the code 0x00000124, which some suggest could be QPI/VTT voltage related.
0x124 is more than likely vcore. It can be ram related though if your oc'ing the ram. But if running ram at xmp/stock its more than likely vcore. On my asus board, qpi/vtt are known as.

Just taken delivery of mine.

Just getting it all installed now but I cant see any mounting screws in the package? Am I meant to use the 8 thumbscrews instead?

Thanks

no

use the normal tiny black screws they should have come with the case not the board

remember to use the brass standoffs/spacers under the board aswell unless it already has them built into the case

ah well atleast you found them, now take your time with installing everything, esp the cpu

don't bend any pins ect, good luck

Ditto to taking your time - time well spent getting things right from the get go.
Good luck - you will love it once it is built.Let us know how you get on.

Im planning on running 2 290s, do I need to plug a 6 pin into the pci power socket on the actual motherboard?
Asked about this in another thread about my formula, (had sli 670's at the time), 8 Pack stated that he doesnt bother with the extra molex on highly clocked cards when benching. Left it out myself and never had any issues.

K2 owner here to, it does tend to cover quite a lot of the mobo.

Yeah, I've noticed that with these sort of coolers. I initially went with an H60 (refurb) and then to custom water, largely because of this.
My RIVE has a similar issue with my Silver Arrow. I like the big coolers, but now the size does make me tempted to get a decent AIO cooler and use them instead of a big air cooler. Not for performance reasons, just space.

If you have gpu stability problems, they don't pull much juice anyway,id guess at it being used mostly in extreme ln2 benching
