**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

Just finished my new build using a Z87X-OC with an I7-4770k with a Zalman CNPS9900-MAX cpu cooler..

And So far in the bios I have Just changed the CPU voltage to 1.250v and turbo to 42x

I've just upgraded my cooling to a full custom water build. As a result of this, I've upped my overclock to 4.5ghz @ 1.305v.

Whilst CPU temps are fine, around 60c with "real world apps" like games and video editing, and 70c with FPU stress test via AIDA, I've noticed a change in my MOBO temp as reported by AIDA, it's getting close to 40c.

Is this OK? Do I need to consider water cooling the MOBO too?

got my board delivered yesterday, have to say its the best looking motherboard ive ever owned.

now ive read quite a few posts on here regarding official and unofficial bios updates and whether you should update or not.

question is if my setup runs fine should i just leave the bios as it is

If it runs fine and is stable, leave it alone.

bios updating is perfectly safe providing you do it through the bios using qflash,NEVER update it through any windows based programs

you also have dual bios chips should things go wrong

the latest final/beta bios's are considered the best as they will have all the latest fixes included in them, and the modded bios's are good aswell, modded with latest driver versions and roms/oproms

i posted this in the general hardware section as well. does anyone know an online retailer that sells the i/o shield for this board please. i contacted gigabyte via email and they told me they dont have any at the moment and are unsure when they will get them back in. need one so i can install my board into the case

it was gigabyte uk in milton keynes they told me to send em a sae and they would send one out as soon as they have one. ocuk customer sevices said they usually quite quick in sending them out and should have one within a week and i used the email they gave me ( gigabyte replied within 3 mins ).

Has anyone here had issues with crossfire.

It seems My board is incapable of running crossfire without crashes and full screen artifacts.

It runs one card fine, not only that but the DIB button does not actually take me to bios.

I am trying to determine whether or not the PSU is at fault or not now but it seems that maybe the board is faulty \o/.

I have F7G bios it did nothing for me except make my ram stable at 2933mhz which previous bios couldnt.

Which bios are the beta ones cant seem to find em.

I could try that.
