***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Anyone else getting crashes? Every hour or so it completely locks my pc and I have to reset. Also getting stuttering and drops to 30, despite it running fine to begin with. Have turned MSAA off and just got FXAA on and turned a few other things down, yet still getting the slowdowns.

I'm guessing it must be a problem with my pc as most seem to be having no problems at all.

Have a character, skipped the tutorial because the first char kept getting missions (for the tutorial) but never said when it was done, so when you think it's done....and try to start missions in MP, nope...you missed a mission that it never told you to do until after.

So made a new char with the option to skip tutorial, no missions, nothing, can't do anything. :/ Have a friend who's play the console versions, level 33 and he doesn't even know what to do.

Is stuff level locked? Why can't we just literally open a menu and start something.
In fact nobody can, people say to open contacts and call them for mission but it's locked and it won't say why it's locked or how to unlock it.

More angry that I've wasted 3 hours not really doing anything.

In the same boat, I'm lost with it. It's almost like I should already know what I'm doing prior to playing. It's a very awkward game.

some people are suffering from a memory leak, you might be too
 
Stupid question but should just checked a few stats in Afterburner and it says that I am using all of my page file. What is this lol and will it affect performance?
 
I am experiencing quite poor FPS ingame. About 30 average on 1920 x 1080p. I expected a little better.
i5 650 CPU
GTX 970 EVGA SC
8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM

Steam is slow as hell for me, most I have seen is 500kb/s. :(
 
multiplayer isnt hard to understand you noobs...you pick one of the hundreds or so blue icons scattered around the map, once in you invite friends from the menu, replenish ammo, buy a vest etc then head into the mission with your crew. Once complete from the grid menu it suggests a bunch more missions, same applies complete and rinse. If you want to free roam then just head into the lobby, simples. Or phone a contact from your phone to acquire a mission, its all rather straight forward.

Where do I set the download to specific location? I'm worried it is automatically trying to download the files to C drive.
 
Been playing a few hours and very impressed. Can run with vsync on (60fps) @ 1080p with high/very high settings even 2x MSAA on;

core i5 4690k (stock)
R9 270x (stock)
8gigs of ram

Very pleased :)
 
Cant seem to connect to anyone else online? Using Virgin media, anyone else having any issues? Connected straight to the super hub.
 
Getting between 60-80 FPS, when i lock it to 59 it doesn't stay at 59, how do you stop the stuttering when it drops from like 80FPS to say 65FPS, its noticeable and really off putting.

This is normal - hence why I struggled to enjoy MP on the consoles. From what I can see nothing has changed at all aside from visuals and heists.

The entire thing is very finicky and you just end up wasting a great deal of valuable time staring at loading screens etc. This is why those hundreds of youtube videos on how to earn tons of cash exist - the whole system is tedious. I've spent most of the hour I played online today just fumbling around with the menus because I keep selecting the wrong things. The superfast tooltips in the top left corner are next to useless.

Also, is Snapmatic - the thing on the Rockstar Social webby that shows your snaps working for anyone? All my previous PS3 snaps seemed to have vanished and I have nothing in my collection now, not even the ones I took today on my PC version.

My god... The loading between missions in the online multiplayer is mind numbingly boring! It even takes as much time going from the mission quitting out back to multiplayer :(
 
nVidia ShadowPlay or Fraps or any of the modern GPU monitoring apps out there that can overlay fps/gpu use etc.
