My download on Steam seems to have stopped at 59GB out of 59.1GB

Its not downloading or showing any time remaining. But it does say "busy writing to disk" in the top left. Does that mean its installing?

How does it feel at 60FPS? I am tuned into playing at 100-120, and when I was playing BF4 on 85 it was making my eyes water it was so bad. I am not convinced I will be able to max GTA out and get 120FPS on a reference R9 290, so I was considering capping at 60. Will have to have a play with the settings tonight.

Great job on the OP by the way - that map is really useful. But how much cooler would it be if it had street view?? :D

You have to admit, though, that in todays industry a game running well on release on mulitiple set ups is rarer than the proverbial rocking horse doodie! You can't blame people for being cynical.

But if the release continues to go as well as it seems to be doing, it really does condemn every other dev/pub out there in my opinion. R* have shown it can be done, and a functional, well optimised game can be released and work on a myriad of different cards, settings and resolutions - just like they used to back in the olden days :)

I will be the first to admit I was skeptical, but I will also be the first to admit I was wrong and I couldn't be happier about it :)

Blocked by a firewall maybe?

There is a bug around that if your windows login has funny characters, you cannot connect.

I always use first person driving modes in any game but couldn't drive for **** when I briefly played SP before heading to work. The fov was all wrong I thought. Didn't take a look in options though to see if it could be adjusted.

I envy you guys on holiday today. Whilst I don't think much of the SP game, the online portion will be far much fun... Providing it works when USA wakes up that is.

Restart your PC

I get the same error if I quit the game and go back in. No idea why as all related processed have ended. Reboot and it goes in straight away no issues - I'm using the steam version.
 
I made the awful mistake of logging on and transferring my account this morning before work. I now all kinds of wish that I had booked this week off to play it! Feels so much better compared to the console port it's like a whole new game!

Can't wait to roll with the OCUK crew tonight :D

Yes, exactly what happened with mine. Took a while but just leave it to complete. Think it then downloads/applies another patch and then does the writing to disk again for a while. Can't remember exactly as it was very early this morning I was watching it..!

It's unpacking and decrypting keep an eye on disk space, it can take a while especially if you're not using an SSD for the steam depotcache or install location.
 
I didn't stay up for the midnight launch, but have read several pages of the thread from about 11:45. It was like a suspense novel. Will they get to play, won't they, is there really a second patch? Gripping stuff, felt like I was there.
 
It supports 2560x1080 natively :D And it doesn't look that terrible in that resolution to boot!

Cutscenes do end up at 1920x1080 though which is probably to be expected.
 
Ok so I guess its time to upgrade from my 660! I only play at 1920x1080 but I have a 120hz monitor so I should probably make proper use of it!
What do you guys recommend for top details top fps at the moment?
 
Downloaded the 2 extra patches this morning after getting back from the gym and also installed the latest AMD drivers. Unfortunately then I had to high-tail to catch the bus on time :(

Can't wait to give this a little go later :D the screenshots with Franklin in the foliage looks stunning :eek:
 
Those posting how good this game runs, and the wonder FPS they're getting...

If you haven't got your specs in your sig, could you post please??

Particularly interested in 5820k/780Ti/1440p performance. :D
