Been playing gta 4 on steam a few days, but 5 wont link !! Help !
 
Trying to install from Rockstar. Everytime I click on the shortcut for gta5, social club loads and logs in then the launcher crashes. I've reinstalled the whole thing twice, set admin rights and updated gpu drivers.

Anybody got any ideas? My windows name doesn't have any of the unrecognised characters etc.

It won't run as fast unless your other drive is also an SSD but it means you dont have to uninstall all your games. I moved BF4 yesterday and origin does not evewn know the difference.

1kiwi1 pointed me in the direction of the yourube vid and the method works like a charm :) Can't believe I didnt already know about this, but there you go - you learn something new every day :)

u cant move origin games as it breaks the link and unlike steam, you have to redownload the whole game again!
 
Only managed to play about 5 mins so far but with a lot of details set to High with a couple on Ultra i was seeing 79fps 1920x1080 120Hz on my GTX 670/i7 3770K..i think il still end up getting a new graphics card though,Maybe 290X with 8gb of Vram so i can completely max out the settings and not hit Vram limitation (maybe?)

It isn't like a standard thing where you simply move the folder from one HDD to another.

It effectively clones the game folder on another drive and fools Origin into thinking it is still in it's original place. I did it with BF4 yesterday and it works fine.

There seems to be a tutorial here on how to work around it :/ the game needs at least 120gb to install ffs.

Amazing NOT ! I purchased a 120gb ssd yesterday for this game, Its not downloaded on steam (encrypted) and now it looks like it wont work. Can i just delete the files and download it again ? As i assume it will come down "un-Encrypted" This should have been mentioned on steams site tbh.

1080p, all settings maxed apart from msaa x4 in getting 70-95fps.

I am blown away with how well this runs, they have not failed to deliver. The rain on the road at night looks amazing for instance, I can't imagine how good it looks at 2k/4k!
 
OK after playing around for a while I have my game at constant 58 to 60 FPS with all settings on High with tessellation at normal on my 7950. Really happy with the performance!
 
i couldnt unpack this on Steam due to not enough free space (27.5gb)
ive deleted it and reinstalling, if it still needs to unpack il have to get another SSD :/
 
I'll be having a play tonight with my setup in my sig and i'll post results at 1440p. I'm not expecting anything higher than 60 fps with my setup to be honest. it will be the decider whether or not i upgrade my gcard this week or wait for the Ti's to be released
