***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I still find it a little dissapointing that Rockstar pump so much time and effort into DLC for GTA Online, yet completely discarded the DLC for single player. I guess they know where the money is for them now. :(

As soon as people started to buy shark cards by the bucket load, the DLC was recycled into online.
It was a massive shame they never extended the main story as I have done 3 playthroughs and it is so engaging.

Saying that, GTAO is an amazing game as well. So swibgs and roundabouts. Also with this new DLC, it can be done entirely solo. Which for a lot of players will be very welcome.

I've never really got into GTA Online. All the micro transactions have put me off, and without really trying it it's just felt like a pay to win game. Is that the case, or is there good fun still to be had without spending anything?

They have made it very money-centric and pretty much everything is a grind. However, if you find a good crew then there will be things to do as a team. Heists, missions racing. However again money talks, custom cars cost as do the upgrades plus level locked as well.

If you are willing to put the time in then it can be fun but the whole online experience is about sharkcards as the grind at the beginning just makes it seem like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. A shark card here and there will make all the difference unfortunately if you dont want to grind. How people spend their money is none of my business but R* have made it theirs and they are very good at getting people to part with it.

That's the bit that bothers me. I don't mind putting time into a game, but not being able to compete without micro transactions just doesn't seem right after paying for the game up front.

Until you have completed the heist first time you will have to visit the sub first to do more scoping out. Then after that it will be there all the time I think

I've just been over to the Island and scoped out what they say was 'the minimum' to start the heist, now to choose whether to stay there and scope some more... or start the heist :D

Yep, that is pretty much how it is TBH

I must have spent 2 hours scoping out stuff today and it is a real grind, plus helicopter lol
Still not done the heist.

TBH is turning out to be a massive disappointment. Love that there is a new location but at the same time they have ruined it by not having anything else on there other than a small beach party and a whole island that is off limits.

Don't see it having legs tbh

Wish they;d just hurry up and make GTA6 instead :D

Well Dan Houser and Lazlow have both left the company now so it does not bode well for GTA 6 to have a story mode. Why tell a story and all the stuff that goes with it when you can make an online game and watch as truckloads of cash comes rolling it for literally doing nothing.

Yeah, this is what I fear! It'll be a sad sad demise of a great series if this happens. Fingers crossed though because they also pulled it off with RDR2, so theres still hope (A different studio though I know)

Seems scoping out loads of extra isn't worth it from a video i just watched (i'l link it below) as the locations change every time you start a new heist,
also the main objective changes every heist, 1st time it's to collect the files from the safe,
the next time you start a heist it's some golden bottle you have the steal from the same basement...

Not heard much talked about Dr Dre being in the cut scene when you get on the plane to goto the Island..
i'd put money on it now that R* were laying the foundations for the next DLC and it will have Dr Dre and Snoop Dog in it ;)

hmm, i ended up not starting the heist, went back to it now and it's making me start from the begining having to scope out the Island again :(

I can see GTA V taking a Destiny 2 style turn and just be developed and worked on over time with various DLC's rather than making a GTA VI. Which is a bit rubbish as Rockstar always seemed really good at creating epic single player games which we could now miss out on. :(

Why do rockstar release new vehicles and there complete and utter dog ****. The new attack boat could have been awesome. if it had some decent armor and a rocket launcher or cannon, or hell a mingun able to shoot higher arc, but no it takes 1 missle to destroy it, its slow, and its about as useful as 99% of all the other **** vehicles.

It's almost always the same, the new jet bomber is such a waste of time and money. Invisible on radar above a certain height but then has absolutely zero chance of being able to hit anything because the bombs are pretty much useless unless you're flying directly above whatever you're tyring to hit. It's also got swing wings which don't work.

Waste of about $5m.

Well guys, now that it was on sale on Steam this week I have just bought GTA V... only a few years after the initial release... LOL. :D

I installed the Redux mod and I am surprised how great it looks, like a game from the last couple of years.

Any other mods I should install or is Vanilla + Redux all I need for a first playthrough? :)

Been thinking of giving GTA V a go on PC,But I'm mainly interested in the many Roleplay servers there are.

Can anyone recommend a roleplay server that doesn't need stupid requirements to join?
Also does installing the required tools/mods for the RP servers interfere with the standalone game too much?. Can you still play regular Standalone missions?

5 different lobbies last night and all had modders in them. Made it impossible to do any CEO stuff.

Some were dropping money also , but didn't risk picking any up as have read of rockstar zeroing accounts.

Back to Solo grinding for now...

I downloaded some graphics mods, reshade and naturalvision. natural vision looks like it is working fine. But I cant get the reshade menu up. any ideas?
