***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I was actually surprised at how demanding it is for my 3090. 4k dlss balanced and it's mostly in the 80's. Perfectly ok but expected more for some reason.

It was the same with other games, it's RTGI which is the big one, rightly so as it's going quite a lot of heavy lifting.

Seem pretty responsive at 90 fps aye but I can def notice the smoothness gain at 120. At 150+ the frametimes start to get worse as it gets closer to engine limit :)

Since I am using RTX HDR, I'm losing about 10-15 fps depending on the scene so not getting that high anyway:

That is using dlss quality though, since the textures aren't super high res and with the DLSS transformer model, could probably use dlss performance to get closer to 240hz/fps but meh for now.

Gave this a go, ran better than I expected on my 3060ti. Oddly i had one car that looked absolutely poo with RT on, made it look low res and rubbish. No idea why, others were fine.

Yeah that’s something I’ve noticed, it doesn’t seem to work very well in certain scenarios on vehicles. The reflections go ultra low resolution for some reason.

Tried nvidias smooth motion there and it works very nicely, seems nvidia overlay doesn't want to work when this is on though (it crashes the game) so can't monitor latency but given the base fps is already so high, there is no noticeable latency issues and since higher fps, it looks even more buttery smooth, same area:

I believe R* have said frame gen will be coming so this is just a temporary solution.

Not exactly a fancy scene or anything but just something about it that I feel shows of GTA 5 keeping that artistic look/vibe even though it's using RT.... The naysayers always would say something like "don't want photo realistic graphics all the time", "RT takes away artists ability to make artistic looking games" and the usual nonsense. Of course, this nonsense has been debunked many times across other artistic looking games using RT but given GTA player base, maybe this will change peoples tune.

Lastly, make sure you are using RTX HDR if you aren't already, really transforms the games visuals especially given how good sunsets etc. look.

Does look great no doubt. It's a weird one for me, I couldn't get into it because the game play felt so disconnected from the story, like Franklin or... wotshisface wouldn't just go running people over for the sake of it etc, used to play early GTA's without this issue. This is making me want to install it. I know I have it on Epic for free. I think I also read somewhere about tweaking certain controls so the game doesn't feel so sluggish.

Well do a migrate save between legacy and enhanced first if u want ur saves to move over. If you uninstall legacy without doing it u risk losing saves i think.
