***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Only just realised this morning I wont be able to play it at all until tomorrow at 8pm. Work project to finish up.

Ah well, I'm still looking forward to hearing reports on how it is for those playing it tonight!

New keyboard and mouse bought as my old one was dying, and x360 pad setup in preparation regardless.

Are there any AMD drivers yet for this? I known NVIDIA users have already got a confirmed update, and they usually do updated drivers for some of the bigger releases.

Also I joined the crew, but forgot to post in this thread. My Social Club is Phant00m. I have a crew set up for a few of my friends to do heists, but I plan to join the OCUK when doing free roam etc. Should be good :D

Well I was going to pre-order this to get the cash bonus, but seeing that I can transfer my character from Xbox 360 to PC, along with the cash and cars my character has means that I can wait a few days to see what it's like (and I get some money).

AMD and Nvidia have been working with Rockstar on this for a while, AMD started putting references into their drivers around a year ago so I doubt you've anything to worry about.

There is quite a lot of chatter in the AMD driver thread in the graphics card forum.

Seems that there is a GTA V profile in the drivers.

Here is the link for the driver thread

I'd be doing that too if I was in your position mate, plus means all the other players get to break the servers. I'm going to be painting my kitchen rather than playing and I did pre-order lol

Anyone rocking ready with a 4k setup?

I'll be on 1440p with Nvidia 970's in Sli and waiting for a wired xbox one controller to replace my logitech rumblepad.

As a total noob to GTA V any tips for new players? I mean I'm probably gonna jump straight into MP rather than the SP game first.

Thanks for crew acceptance "Nan072" ingame

I have a few questions:

I don't understand how it works as I have not played anything like it online that is not an MMORPG. How will items such as cars and apartments be saved? Would you need to join the same server every time?

I have pre-ordered and will receive the ingame money bonuses but why do we get this? Is it harder to obtain money in this game? Does this not defeat the object of starting with nothing?

Thanks.

Got it downloaded last night via steam only took 50 mins :)

I take it the folder"depotcache" is the encrypted GTAV folder? does anyone know if it's possible to copy this folder to my sons PC so when he buys it today he won't have to download it again?

I was looking at doing this to copy it onto my gaming laptop. The best advice I could find is that the pre-load is encrypted using unique keys - aka probably wont work.

If you wait until the game has unlocked and then:

1: Buy the game on your sons steam acount
2: start the download
3: quit steam and copy the files
4: Restart steam

It *should* work.

No. That info is saved to your profile, so that when you go online, regardless of the server you join, all of that info is loaded into that world with your character.

When the online side of GTA 5 first went live, outside of the cheats, it was slow making money. Having to re-stock up on your ammo can also eat into your bank balance. This bonus will be a little helper for you, to get a decent car and house quickly. Some people don't want it which is fair enough, but I don't think it won't spoil the game. I'm going to transfer my character from the Xbox 360, so the first time I join online games on the PC I will have a few million $ and a garage full of nice cars :).

Does anyone think this game will launch on a dual core? Im running a G3258, while the miniumum specs call for a Q6600, I'm hoping it won't lock out dual core users completely :(
