***Official GTX 670 thread***

Got my 2 windforce 670's in.

Not done an awful lot of playing around, but they certainly do perform well in BF3.

Not so much in Heaven, but I don't play that often.

Colours seem a bit dull compared to ATI, which have been using for years now.

Top card runs at either 1137 or 1156 (or something like that), and temps get into mid 70's

Bottom card goes up to 1170 and seems to keep under 70. May swap them around some time if I can be bothered, but I am not even concerned about overclocking them.

I may have a quick go just to get an idea of what they can achieve, but they are more than likely fast enough, even at 2560x1440.

PS - memory usage 1.9GB - should I be worried?

Yes exactly what I found.

Colours arent as vibrant or bright. However what you do get with Nvidia, is tighter developer integration and higher quality drivers.

I feel like for a desktop machine, I buy AMD gpu's for the better colours and for a purely gaming computer, it has to be Nvidia.

Got my Gigabyte this morning, not tried clocking yet

I bought exactly the sme a few days ago, very nice quite card. Only small let down is not much else was in the box...

Also recieved my Gigabyte 670GTX windforce today :D, seems quieter than my previous 5850 and that was quiet.

From a brief look at Precision X, when idling GPU clock seems to settle at 324mhz and then when in game (tried Company of Heroes bench) it settles on 980mhz base, under load 1176mhz boost stock. Temps idle 34-36 degree on desktop and about 42-48 when on boost (so far). My Box says Taiwan, haven't checked the card. Will have to see about OC, though I am noob.

I do wonder why people insist on quoting images from a couple of posts up... :/

Anyway, i must find out if mines a China or Taiwan made card.... will be interesting to know. :)

Just got my gigabyte windforce 670 this morning (for an incredibly good price ;)). The difference between it and the palit reference 670 is like night and day. So much quieter! No annoying sound from the fan. I seriously can't hear this card. Played bf3 and it was at 37% fan speed and temps were 55 degrees. It runs 20-30 degrees cooler than the reference. Chuffed with it. Mine boosts to 1163mhz at stock. It looks a lot better in person than it does in the photos too. The blue pcb is growing on me...slightly.

Dont think my windforce 670 overclocks that great, boosts to 1150 , can set it to +30 (1180) and +300 on memory.

Not sure if you can adjust voltage on these at all.

I haven't tried overclocking mine yet. I'm happy with out of the box speeds for the time being. That seems a bit low compared to other peoples overclocks. But it is luck of the draw. I'm just happy with how quiet and cool this card is. I'm never touching a reference card again. Which program did you use to oc? Afterburner or precision X?

Afterburner, seems you can adjust the power draw, so may go higher

My 670gtx windforce 3x is a taiwan and is a poor oc'er boost is something like 1050 standard have managaed to get a max stable boost of 1200 which I know isnt bad but its no where near as some peoples windforce's the main thing for me tho is how quiet it is :)

Similar to my made in Taiwan version. 1059 standard boost. I can just squeeze 1242 out of it with +105 gpu offset. The memory overclock is nice though at +730.

Mine are made in China and both do 1176MHz out of the box. Can seem to push them to 1246MHz but drivers seem to crash randomly which also happens at 1176...so it's kinda hard to tell if it's hardware or software failing.

Anyone know how to get and read crash reports?

I've got 2 Windforce 670s (did have 3 but didn't really work due to spacing) and that may contribute to this, but I'm always surprised when people say they're really quiet.

Under load my fans got to around 1500rpm (which I think is just over 40%) I can clearly hear them. I think I'm going to have to do something about it before too long.

seems bizzare the same cards with same bios'es auto boost differently?

Maybe people are just reading the GPU-Z bios readout and not the actual realtime one from the sensors, because mine says Boost: 1059MHz but Percision X or GPU-Z's sensors tab will read 1176MHz in a sufficiently stressful game.

maybe you have very sensitive ears? I can't hear the card at all over my case fans. You should try a reference 670, it's unbearable in my opinion.

I agree. My reference 670 that I had boosted to 1097mhz at stock clocks (but then throttled to 1084mhz when temps got too high). So I find it hard to believe the gigabyte would be slower especially since they're factory overclocked.

I think that's because you (we) have two. If it's a single one I'm sure the fan would never need to get near 40%.

For the record I think they become audible at 43%.
