***Official GTX 670 thread***

Well had a play around with my KFA2 and gonna dsr it and get the windforce, base boost goes to 1176 which I'm not too bothered about but temps are hitting 74 at stock and only drop to 63 when the fan is on 75%.... Compared to the temps the windforce is getting I think id prefer to spend a few extra quid and get one of those

Ouch, seems KFA2 have some QC issues with these cards.

Mine KFA2 then looks as is cherry picked then.
Never had problem with boost 1229MHz with NO OC when temps lower than 70C.
Ocing is not a problem, 3Dmark 11 passed with 1349MHz Boost :D
+100 to GPU and pass BF3 at ultra with 1328 MHz boost.
Maybe I shouldn't sell it hmmm.
Any way Asus ordered - I prefer black PCB with bacplate and even more quiet :) :D

I don't know it could be my case but won't know unless I try, the rest of my temps are pretty low.... People seem to be generally getting lower temps with the windforce so we will just have to wait and see

If its any use to anybody I bought an MSI 670 OC edition. With the fans on auto;

Temps at idle are around 30-33 degrees, during heaven benchmark the highest it went up to was 81 degrees, with fan at 57%.

The boost up until about 75 degrees was 1110Mhz, then it dropped a few Mhz to 1097Mhz when temperatures hit 76-81degrees.

whats the noise like?

Has anyone got the palit jetstream? Got great reviews, has a nice oc of 1006mhz out of the box and a nice cooler.

"The GeForce GTX 670 recorded a maximum sustained temperature of 65 degrees Celsius, which is slightly warmer than its direct rival the Radeon HD 7950. However, considering how much faster it is, we think this is something we could gloss over. Besides, 65 degrees for a high-end card is something unthinkable just a generation ago. To put this in perspective, the GeForce GTX 580 from just a generation ago tipped the scales at 80 degrees Celsius, the GeForce GTX 670 is considerably faster yet much cooler.

Despite their custom coolers, the ASUS and Palit cards weren’t really that much cooler. The Palit GeForce GTX 670 JetStream was marginally cooler at 62 degrees Celsius, but the ASUS, probably due to its pretty high clock speeds, was warmer at 69 degrees Celsius. Looking at the results here, it’s safe to say that NVIDIA’s reference cooler design is a pretty effective one."

Yup, I find it bazaar to say the least that Nvidia's ref design would allow the temps to hit a thermal throttle. It renders any kind of OC on the ref cards pretty pointless.

Not really, my 680 does 1300 mhz at 80c, people are just reading too much in to how the cards are set up.

In fact the fan on the 680 doesn't seem to even start to control temps until 70c and at 80c it might drop 15 mhz or something.

The reference 670 is very different to the reference 680 and not to be compared.

wasn't really noticeable above the case fans at 57%. And that was with no sound out of my speakers.

I've just messed around in afterburner and it becomes audible anything above 61% fan speed (in a quiet room)
