580 throttles the clocks in furmark so temps will not be too high.

I previously had a 470 SLI setup and I found that borderline unbearable at load, the 580 SLI setup I have now is much quieter.
Forgot to say yesterday, i did bump the volts up to 1.1 for that run, its stable @ 830 on stock so probs wont need it that high, i just wanted to see what kind of score it would produce, will try stock and lower mV tonight.

Well my pair of "cheap" Asus 580s just turned up from 'the big river'

Took a good few hours on the phone and several strongly worded emails but they did honor it in the end
They have been out of stock since they were up "mis priced" and I'd about given up as they couldn't / wouldn't say if or when stock was coming in

finally got myn the other day only to have a problem removing the stock cooler one of the small screws was stuck and it got :/ stripped so had to drill off the screw head got it all off now and my ek-fc580 waterblock and back plate on it and it stays at 39 - 45c at load now which I think is good
All I got to do now is overclock my cpu which is running at stock atm 3ghz to give the card a bit more power behide it

had the same problem with mine, screw was stuck and chewed so drilled it off.
tho the temps i am getting with my ek black is lower 28 idle and 33 load

Well guys i finally did upgrade from my GTX470 to a GTX580
Compared to both my GTX480 and GTX470 all i can say is WOW.
It runs soooo quiet compared the the other 2.

Insane! How did you get such a high clock? I only achieved 900MHz at best.

Just watercooled and a lot of tweaking! Hoping for better in the next few week when my chiller arrives!

i7 is @ 4ghz despite what heaven says.
My GTX 570 gets higher than that when overclocked to 890hz. It get's 64.1 fps, although you ran it at 1920x1200, I ran it at 1080.
It seems normal though.

gonna sound like a noob but can you flash the bios of any 580 to another one?
yes, but not a sc or overclocked version ( not reccomended )
how you do it i dont know, i just remember reading on on XS when i had a 580
Isn't that good when you want to compare GPUs and not the hundreds of different CPU and GPU combos which would make comparisons a headache?
