Hmm I want to upgrade from my old overclocked 1055t but I still don't feel it's worth the jump.![]()
I would do it,don't let the temps put you off a good 4.5-4.6ghz is achievable imo which is plenty
you'll run much better ram speeds to

There are some absolute rubbish overclockng CPU's floating around in some of these reviews.
You would think intel would make an effort to ensure the reviewers got reasonable overclockers.
Most of the 5GHz overclocks are ES chips... really I think retail ought to be reviewed to show realistic results to the end user. In our review, we used retail and it prove difficult getting beyond 4.7GHz even with big volts!
Im really glad they DONT or that would be hugely misleading
EDIT:
oh, darn...
Interesting post:

It seems that AMD moving some of the voltage regulation onto the chip maybe the reason they run hot.
amd
haha nvm
yeah haswell has tiny vrm inside the cpu,but its cheap paste that causes the high temps same as ivy
temps will be the limiting issue on your oc imo

From i7 920 Haswell looks tempting as a new toy to play with, but the next proper upgrade will be something on x99 with DDR4 for me. Was considering x79 too, but I think it's to late in its life cycle to jump on board with now.
