Official Home Gym Building Thread

I've got the cf475 and highly recommend it. It's got thicker/more robust catcher pins than the 375. I posted a picture just above.

//edit: looks like the 475 had been replaced with the 485. Now with red highlights :p

Hey. I was told the 375 should be getting restocked soon within a few weeks, but the other bodymax models won't be in until mid July!

I'm really not sure if I can wait that long, do you think it would be worth it? It's killing me not being able to do compounds right now haha.

You can't do OHP inside the rack unless you're a midget though

Oh that sucks! Is there any way to have the barbell racked on the outside of the cage at the front or is it inside only? :)

Cheers mate

You can absolutely rack it on the outside. Mine only came with 2 barbell pins (dunno if thats the right name?) but I'd advise buying a 2nd pair.

CF485 - that seems to be the upgraded version of what I have and has the thicker spotter/catcher bars. I've not had to rely on them yet (touch wood!) but nice to know the strength is there.

Anyone recommend anywhere which is getting Plates back in stock any time soon? after 150kg Set of bumper plates. Have everything for the whole gym now except the damn plates!

Thanks!

Pretty cheap vs the other plates on there, but it is fantastic quality. Ships quickly too.
Not really. For example I paid £120 for Mirafit 20kg X 2 bumpers. That's standard pricing too.

Yeah your right, after looking at the other plates i realised there only sold in singles, so that makes this set quite reasonable, i'm after 1 inch plates myself and the prices for those everywhere have sky rocketed

Managed to order a pair of 22.5kg dumbbells yesterday. Not perfect but better than the 15kg (singular) dumbbell I've got now. I wanted to get an olympic bar and 100kg of weight and it would have cost £600 :o

Out of curiosity, anyone who had a home gym prior to lockdown, how much did you pay for a bar and circa 100kg of weight?

i think it's £3 per KG was the going rate 10 years ago for new and £1.50 per kg second hand.

for bumper plates you can probably increase that to £5 per kg or £6.

I got that for £166.

Admittedly it was a misprice, i think it was retailing around £330 ish?
Cheers - just ordered these. £400 but not too bad considering the prices elsewhere.

Any recommendations for a commercial grade incline bench? Some of the primal fitness benches look nice, they are circa £500. Any thoughts guys?
Want it to feel solid

Edit: Thoughts on a bulldog gear bench? Specifically the:
Adjustable Bench 2.0 Incline / Decline

Have you looked at Origin Fitness? There is so much out of stock everywhere and it is all expensive.

My rack arrives tomorrow morning :D - can't wait!
