Official Home Gym Building Thread

Got my dumbbells and a few other bits. Just waiting for my 20x2 bumpers from Mirafit.

Plan is to have it carpeted when lock down eases and I will be adding a slim wall mounted cable station when it's back in stock - https://www.gorillasports.co.uk/wall-mounted-lat-station

I will need to get a bar too when stock starts to appear as my current one is on loan from a friend.

The big boys, may need to get some 50s next.

Got my Origin Fitness dumbbells... I was concerned about how much I paid, but I realise weights (having never bought them before) are generally quite expensive... for the good stuff, and these do seem very nice.

I've ordered a cheap bench. If I had space I would spend money on a nice one, but this one actually folds up to fit under my bed. Living in a flat in London, space is a premium. My current workout space is actually my hallway! (Pictured above)

I have an olympic bar and some iron weights I bought about 4 years ago for something that never materialised. Got 140kg in plates. I feel it might be time to profit with crazy prices right now.

Not something I'd usually consider but need to finish my garden work and priorities change I guess.

Seen people on ebay asking 4 quid a kg.

Facebook market place is a great place to sell stuff, I've sold stuff I didn't need within a day. You can tell a lot of people have dragged some old stuff out of their garage to sell as there is a big demand.

I dont use facebook but I have heard its good for that kinda thing. My missus uses it and we've bought some stuff for our daughter on there before but I'm a bit apprehensive about random muppets turning up.

I will look into it though.

This is the set https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ns...399-delivered-at-discount-supplements-2496522

Think I paid £160 at the time.

Finally feeling better (and not complete shattered!) and got around to fixing the mistake I made when I built the weight stack. Finally complete:

Only got one problem left and that is the pulley twisting itself when not under load of any kind. Might try adjusting it to see if I can fix that!

Now to get to work!

Please could someone recommend me some (in stock) kit for starting off with deadlifts? I guess that's just the bar and a set of weights but I don't really know what I'm looking for... so first time deadlifting and assume puny muscles but room for increasing weights in the future :)

You're going to struggle find one in stock currently or pay silly amounts for a bar at the moment but if you are happy with a Trap/Hex bar you can get hold of them at plenty of places for £100-140, Mirafit have them in stock but I believe you can get them a bit cheaper, weights keep popping in and out of stock so just keep an eye out and snap them up when they become available.

I have some one inch plates and bars that never get used since a faff to have both olympic and those on the go. have stuck them on ebay. just less than 60kg and a straight bar and an ez-curl. Wonder what they will go for
