The mammoth lite I have is a solid bit of kit.

Yes, you sold it to me. Your pictures sold it better than those on the website, it looks solid. It’ll probably be back in stock within the next couple of weeks. The spotters tend to appear once or twice a month. They’re made in the UK at least which helps speed up supply.

One tip would be to get some larger bolts as there is a little play in the ones supplied. Can find a post further back with details. I did it for the side I dip on but you could do it on both sides for extra rigidity.

M18 bolts I think you said, good tip, will definitely do that.

Looks identical (probs is, just different branding) to the Mobility Tools one I leave at work for the gym there - good solid belt which I’ve put 50kg on fine - although as ever they work way better with plates that have grip-cut outs otherwise they ride right up into your family jewels when you’re using 20kg plates. I wish the Spud Inc chainless belt was more easily available over here as I think apart from the IronMind belt it’s the best hip belt to use, but that one’s good too.

I use one all the time. It’s needed for dips and pull ups as I’m about 80kg.

Helpful and useful feedback, thanks. I do indeed have plates with grip cut holes, so that’s good to know.

I've decided to pair down a lot of my home gym kit. I do enjoy some elements of a home gym, especially during the current times, but I'm just not getting the same enjoyment I get from an actual gym. I miss having access to so much variety, I just can't see myself long term progressing much at home.

So I'll be keeping a small selection of dumbbells, my cable machine, and the hex plates. I'll swap my expensive bench for a cheaper flat bench. With this I can do decent workouts while not holding onto to expensive kit that may be very difficult to sell when gyms are fully running again.

So I'll be selling my bench, rack, bumpers and bar, the 26s and 34s.

That leaves me with 8s, 12s, 16s, 20s, 42s and enough hex plates to load up the cable machine and ez/tricep barbell.

Funny, I’m the opposite, I’ve never enjoyed it so much. Wasn’t sure I’d adapt. I can take how long I want without people moaning about me using a rack/bench for hours. I’m also progressing more quickly - I think because in the gym I’m always tempted to use additional equipment at the end of a workout that seems to have limited my gains by overdoing it.

I’m desperately refreshing bulldog gear for the rack I want - hopefully it comes in stock before I go back to work and can’t take delivery in their reasonably long delivery window, at least until my longer summer holiday.

Problem I have is that I like to vary things between training blocks. I used to just be about the big movements but those are less and less important to me these days.

So I decided to keep all my home gym kit, realistically gyms aren't going to be like they were pre-COVID for quite sometime. When they are, I can still join and find a good balance between gym and home gym.

As @Syla5 mentioned there is a lot of value to be had from home gym kit right now in having accessing and using it.
