Not using OpenComposite for BoX? I found it to be far better than SteamVR.

As mentioned your paying for a map and 8 to 10 aircraft, you'll be able to use all aircraft from the game as ai, including flying Circus if taking down Fokkers with me262's is your thing.
You'll also have access to all maps online.

If you wait for the next sale you should be able to pick all the box games up for £45ish bar Normandy. Theres discount for registered accounts so you could try creating an account and waiting 24hrs.

Ok I’ve got my head round how it all works and will wait for a sale now and probably buy all the major packs. For now I’ve just bought flying circus stand-alone and found it has hugely better graphics than clod, (although still a bit crap!) so I’m happy and I love the slower pace of the planes.

Just need some practice now!

There is an updating landing shortly for IL2 Cliffs of Dover that buffs the graphics overall and more excitingly adds VR.

That's the 4k and true sky demo. I don't think there's any videos demonstrating vr yet, beta testers have been asked not to post footage. But I'd be surprised if it arrives this year, although the developers did say they are hoping for a summer release. But they also said that last year.

They've only released dribs and drabs with the 4k skins and some terrain improvements not a lot else so far.

It has its fair share of quirks, a lot of which will get the response "it's clod" when questioned but it still has its charm. If you're playing sp this is worth a download.

Spent so many hours on this game, i use to love just flying my bomber through thick flak fire and watch my aircraft get shredded before attempting an emergency landing with the plane barely holding it together.

The ground fire in this game at least when I played the original was way over done. Sniper Russian gunners.

Dragged out my old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I can't calibrate the rudder on the twist. Not in Windows, not in the game.

Will I just chuck it and get another. or is there a better choice >£50?

Not much about for under £50, if you can go a little higher you could pick up a thrust master t.16000m.

Otherwise, still a little above budget keep an eye out for a second hand vkb gladiator mk.ii.

thrust master t.16000m looks good. I could never. get that old Logitech 100% calibrated properly in the past. It's was always slightly off.

In the past I had a CH Products Fighter Stick but pre-USB. That was much better.
