Do you mean the new Smart CASE? If so, yes, it does dig into the hand a bit. I will normally rest the unit on my leg or propped up with a cushion so that it's not uncomfortable for my hands. Strange that Apple saw fit to make the edges so sharp though.

Oddly, I find the iPad is ever so slightly loose in the case, but not so much that it becomes an issue.

Any recommendations for messenger style bags fellas?

I'll be carrying the ipad (in its official apple new full cover case), a portable HDD, and maybe some a4 paper. But I need some sort of pen holders (for a couple of screw drivers) and something to hold a phone ideally aswell!!

To give you an idea, Found this on the web: called an Osprey Warp bag - but not available here in the UK :(

I've seen them STM Scout 2 bags - but they've only got a couple of compartments so not ideal for carrying things like screw drivers with a load of easily scratchable and expensive gear! thanks.

I've got the Scout 2 and it's perfect for what you want. The pen section is in a separate compartment from the iPad and there is another section where you could fit a notepad, kindle or portable drive. Check out the video on the STM site.

Thanks fella. I checked the vids earlier on today and couldn't see any pen holders. Are they recessed further into the case enough to fit a couple of screwdrivers in? Ta

I'm on the train but here's a couple of photos with my pen in the holder. The zipped pocket is perfect for your portable drive. I keep my MiFi and headphones in there.

Just fitted a cheapo skin from eBay. Fits nicely and protects the back without adding any bulk or weight.

Will be interested to see if it stays stuck.

anyone tried any smart case copies from ebay? (full all round case)

thoughts? dont want to buy an original one as they cost too much
