Had to be done! :D

So, what are people getting with their new iPads (when they can actually order them!)? It seems like iPad 2 cases should fit just fine, although camera cutouts will probably be too small..

I've been going naked + slipcase for my pocket with the 4S, and will probably do something similar with this. Slipcase for when I chuck it in my work bag, something funky like so:

Then a smart cover for propping it up on the desk. Now, smart covers. What's better than the official Apple ones? Anything well-regarded?

Bigger camera so iPad 2 cases will probably fail in that area. I'd imagine your typical sleeve will fit the new one okay give it's <1mm difference, but I'd avoid buying iPad 2 cases until the companies update their sites.

Actually, you lot could help me out here! I ordered an ipad this morning, mostly for doing actual work on - lots of typing / presentations etc both at home, on the sofa, train and at the office. But I quite fancy getting a physical bluetooth keyboard to use with it - and my desktop PC. I'm looking for something 'somewhat' portable, but not something so tiny that typing becomes an issue.

Any ideas? I was looking at the Logitech DiNovo edge, which looks ok - but I'd have no use for the media functionality on it, and although cost isn't a huge issue, £110 seems like a lot for just a keyboard! The Microsoft one's looked ok as well, but they seemed to need a USB dongle, which is an issue for the iPad of course?

Does the existing Ipad 2 smart cover work with the new ipad?

I have pre ordered a new ipad / smart cover but didn’t realise my father has a brand new Ipad 2 one spare :)

Bought me a leather red cover to keep me going but hopefully something a bit more better will pop up soon. Will keep my eye out for something for the back though as I don't want to scratch it up!

I'm after something like my old Belkin full leather book type case that I had for the iPad 1. Not interested in the smart cover as the missus has one on her iPad 2 and its rubbish, doesn't protect the back and just falls off when the kids manhandle it.

just get the apple BT keyboard its only £50

Can someone recommend me a decent dock that mounts the ipad on its side. I'd like to use it as a laptop with the keyboard

Do I get the keyboard/dock or the wireless keyboard and another dock?

and, can you use a mouse with it?

Thanks

Well, most people seem to think ipad 2 cases will fit fine. For me personally, since I don't give a monkeys about the camera anyway, I went for one of the rotating solid cases with a faux leather smart panel, folding front/stand.

The rotating thing looks really useful when I'll be switching from portrait paper writing to landscape presentations. I tried to find a recognisable, known brand - but ended up picking one up for a tenner from an auction site, they all seem to work in a similar fashion anyway.

And on the apple keyboard thing - I did look at the official apple one, and it is quite nice - but was wondering if there's anything better out there or something that might work a little better with windows? The logitech dinovo appeals due to that the keyboard itself is rechargable through it's stand as well.

Will iPad 2 cases (not the official smart cover) fit the iPad 3 do we think? My cover for my iPad 2 has a back case that the iPad sites in and the cover sits over the top, so if the iPad 3 is thicker than my iPad 2, then I'm gonna have to order a diff case.

I could wait til next Friday (hopefully) when my 64gb turns up, but thought one of you guys might now?

EDIT: Reading above, seems some uncertainty, will wait til mine arrives then I suppose.
