** Official ** January 2010 Transfer Thread- Rumours & Speculation in here

celtic cannot go any further within scottish football, they have peaked, so have rangers. they need to be allowed into the premiership if they want to be able to grow further.

why do you not want them to come? its more competition. more competition means better football for everyone.

No it doesn't.

You might be competition for the Championship / low Premier league teams but Celtic and Rangers over the course of a season wouldn't have a chance of getting top half.

They don't and should never be allowed in the Premier league, Scottish football would decline even further then it already has.

Open your eyes and just see that this is as good as it will ever get for Rangers and Celtic. Big fish in a small (and awful) pond.

wasnt as successful within europe is what i said. do you have selective reading disorder?

are you saying martin oneill isnt a good manager? is he better or worse then mowbray?

Strachan is rubbish and that's showing now. Mowbray tries to play good football and usually suceeds, he's just never been at a club with any finances to buy the good players he needs to play good football

Have to agree with Tummy on not getting top half, realistically Celtic and Rangers would need to be placing around teams like Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City, Fulham, Villa, West Ham, Everton and they're not at that level this year.

Again getting a bit touchy :p

I'm saying that Martin O'neil is a decent manager and so is Mowbray.

their should be a british league, because thats what it is when it comes to the olympics and when scottish sportsmen do well, its britain that gets the credit.

their should also be a british national team as well. or the other way to do it would be. england can compete on their own within the olympics, against the scottish, welsh and irish.

If we had a "British" national side it would just be full of English people? :p

There shouldn't be a "British" league it's a daft idea.

They can disagree with me all the like.

The manager of the "British" side wouldn't pick them over the current players in the England squad.

their isnt a single english player who has played for manchester utd first team this season that wasnt good enough to play for england.

fletcher is a first team manchester utd player. yet your saying he wouldnt get into the english team if he was english?

Fletcher wouldn't get in to the current England squad.

Wes Brown has being a regular this season, should he get in ahead of Rio / Terry?

Danny Welbeck has played for Manchester United and he's English and he's not in the England squad?

Thats not what you said, by your logic playing for Manchester United should mean you're in the national side. It's not true.

Fletcher wouldn't get in to the England squad / team ahead of what there currently is.

You can try and convince yourself that Scottish football isn't **** and you have good players all you like :)

its not my logic its a fact, any regular first team player this season (do you see the word regular in there i wouldnt want you to miss it out with your selective reading) for manchester united that is english has played for england.

Yes that's because they're good players?

Fletcher wouldn't get in to the England team.

Edit, this has got **** all to do with if Fletcher was English or not. You pick the best players you have to play for the national side, Fletcher isn't good enough to make the England team.

He plays for Scotland because A) he's Scottish and B) they're not blessed with amazing world class footballing talent :)
