*** Official Kinect Thread ***

How long is the cable for Kinect? My Xbox is the other side of the room from my screen, so I'm concerned it may not reach; I suspect I need a 6 meter run, and I doubt it will be that long.

You could maybe just use a USB extension?

I also have a problem with my cat walking around... It does look awesome on "Your Shape" though.

I've heard the Dance games on the Wii are also the same.

On a side note, will you be changing your sig then? As clearly the Move controller doesn't change everything on that statement.

well Singstar/Dance and Eyepet are now traded.

while i like wii/Move, i think good Kinect versions of waggle/Move games will be far better.

so far the equivalent Kinect games are proving to be better than the wii/Move alternatives with the above 2 for instance, suffering quite badly in comparison to Dance Central and Kinectimals.

I got kinect last thursday and had a good go at it over the weekend.

I think it is great and works really well. At the moment I have Kinect sports abd dance central. The tracking works really well and i haven't had any problems with it at all. I have about 8ft before I hit the sofa. Two player works great. My 4 year old loves it.

I also have a Wii and I find the Kinect a lot better.

Can't wait to get some more games....

Make sure you have plenty of room for this device, I beta tested it and struggled in all but one of my rooms - they have fixed many of the space issues and it is a great party toy, just be aware of your environmental limitations :)

Yep, this really is true.

Just tried moving the sensor to the top of the TV to see if that would help add a little more options for depth. We have a pretty large living room, and while it was happy enough with me being maybe 4 or 5 feet from the sensor, it was cutting off the very bottom of my feet.

The IDEAL spot that it really wants for our room is...you guessed it, RIGHT in the center of the coffee table. That's roughly 7 or 8 feet from the sensor.

Good news - the more units sold the more likely devs will take it seriously and the platform itself should mean that it doesn't become another Wii selling very few 3rd party games. I'm still hopeful that we'll see some proper titles using the Kinect as an enhancement to games rather than the only controller required.

Rumor: Gears of War Coming to Kinect

Hey, I have been looking into this and so has the girlfriend for the flat. I just have a couple of questions. :D

Will this take off or die? Mainly due to the competition. This is because my girlfriend is thinking of getting rid of her wii and we get this for my console as some of the games look a bit better.

Does anyone have any comments on the dance one, like whether it beats the wii dancing game as my gf and her mates all quite like the wii one.

Is it only 2 player maximum or can you use 2 kinects and have 4 people etc.

Was just wondering as overall i would like to get the gf this as then it broachs the gap and gets her closer to the xbox where I can slowly divert her to some proper gaming ;)

Does it look like it will come down in price in the future like after christmas and is their any more good games coming out?

Thanks guys. :D
