*** Official Kodi (née XBMC) Thread ***

Guys I have an pi I'd like to do a fresh install of kodi on, is there any good tutorials to follow along with good repos to add?

Many thanks

Had an odd problem with my kodi this last few days, just unable to stream anything, nothing changed, then go to use it this morning after switching plex to internal player then back to external and all sorted! I don't know why I'm posting this, as I've no idea why it's suddenly stopped and then started working!

Anyone's sky go add-on work? Used to work great for me but not for a while?

(I have a log in)

Cheers

I had a problem with mine - had to remove it and reinstall the add on.

Also spotted a quick fix on the kodi forums:

Navigate to %AppData%\Kodi\addons\plugin.video.skygo\resources\lib\other

Open channel_scrapping.py in a text editor change the value of url to "http://go.sky.com/vod/page/playLiveTv.do"

Apparently sky changed something their end so currently only live TV works, but this got me going again :)

Can you not just plug the USB stick or sd card (where ever it's stored) into a pc and copy it on that way. I'm sure you could remove the read only properties easy enough in Windows.

Yeah, I bought one and love it.
Never stutters even on 30GB Blu ray ISOs

What version do you have?

Nope already tried.
Doesnt let me add anything
Just says Operation not supported (using 7zip to open it)

Dont you just install it like any other zip?

Stick it somewhere you can navigate to on the device (I stick them on my nas)
Go to addons and install from Zip?

No, doesn't work, already tried multiple different methods.
If you try to install via zip it just gives a dependency arr not met message, guessing because its a copy of the default skin, you cant overwrite them. Even tried putting the files into another confluence skin zip, still doesnt work.
Really hate how kodi/xbmc are so locked down like this...its fine on my computer (can easily copy and replace files), but I want to run it on the Pi.

What are you logging into the SSH as?

Dont understand?
just logging in with username and password via WinSCP.
Even when using the SD card in a USB adapter so I can go into the files by 7-zip, I still cant change anything because the folders are read only. The folder in question is located in a file called SYSTEM.file. I can extract the contents (all folders) out of it and change the confluence skin in those folders, but I cant add them back to the SYSTEM.file. I even tried re-creating it into a file with same name and .file extension, it boots but it doesn't recognise the file anymore.

Tried everything I can think of, really stupid how its so locked down for no reason what so ever.
I want the confluence skin with a wallstream added to it, that's all. Theres no skins that I've found that do that without massively changing the UI.

Ok

So what are you running now, openelec or OSMC ? Is the skin compatible still?
I have never had any locked down filed when logging in as root

Atm I have a clean install of openelec on it, yes everything works (the default confluence skin)
Whether or not I go in via SSH with WinSCP or by USB dongle, I still cant make any changes to the folders inside. Just get permission denied each time.
Right clicking on the file it doesn't show as read-only though.

This is the SD-CARD with all files on

This is what happens I go into the SYSTEM.file (this is where everything is located) and I try to copy something to it.

The place I need to paste the files is in F:\SYSTEM\usr\share\kodi\addons\skin.confluence, but I just get the above error when trying.
Same thing if I do it over SSH.
