*** Official Kodi (née XBMC) Thread ***

Yes you would need to restore it from iTunes/Seas0nPass to do a complete wipe/re-jailbreak and then follow the updated XBMC install guide to install Frodo fresh.

This is a great reason to run a MySQL library. Drop an advancedsettings.xml in the right place and your entire library is back in all of the blink of an eye instead of having to rescan. Backup your sources.xml too to make things even quicker.

I've been playing with mysql on my synology nas this week but I'm buggered if I could get it to work correctly. After 2 days of faffing about I turned it off and went back to my previous settings. I followed the wiki guide for setting up the server and still couldn't get it to work. I'll just settle for re-scanning for the files again.

Did you try changing the audio settings within xbmc? I had the same - any video running about 1fps until I changed my HDMI settings within xbmc as in section 4 of this - sorted everything out for me (also saved me from exploding as I'd just finished modifying everything to my liking to then try a vid. grr..

I'm using optical digital out, nearly sure I had WASAPI set but not 100% certain. Not sure I want to reload Frodo now I have Eden up and running again.

I re-jail broke my ATV2 yesterday and installed XBMC from scratch. Still had the same problem with it hanging for ages when exiting a movie. Did a bit more reading online and decided to downgrade to Eden. Did that and everything is now fine. Movies now exit almost straight away and it closes don much quicker. It also scanned my movies and tv shows much quicker than Frodo did. Think I'll wait till the next update for Frodo before trying it on my ATV2 again.

Gents, i have 100's of film files that i want to put in individual folders with the same name as the file name so i can keep artwork/cover art/subs etc nicely organised. Is there a program that will do this for me without having to manually create the folders myself?

Will media companion do it?

On my home TV/AV system I'm still using XBMC, however I also have a plex server running in the background so that I can stream across the 'net - I'm not using the plex interface yet as I really rather like XBMC and have my system/remote all set up to use it. Also it's great as I can connect to my server and find out what my remote IP address is.

Using Frodo at the mo on my N40L (& 6450) and it works really nicely: note this was a fresh install.

A question about those using HD audio: is there a way to ask XBMC to transcode DTSHD-MA and DD TruHD to LPCM on the fly for output over HDMI? I have external codecs on the system, just not sure if I can do it transparently.

Whilst thats good, i prefer a program called XBMCLauncher.

As it still loads up Explorer.exe it makes it a lot easier to go back into Windows for general PC use :)

How is ALT + TAB easier than WIN + D :p

*edit* nvm running as a shell. Why would one want to do that o.O

My new Revo doesn't seem to be picking up the movie sets. It's enabled in the settings but I have no idea why they still aren't being picked up though.
They are working on my older Revo which is in the living room...

Any ideas?

Nope - once you run Frodo it will automagically upgrade the database, leaving the old Eden one in tact.

(This is assuming that you've allowed the "xbmc" user [or whatever MySQL user you set up] full control of the MySQL server)

An important thing though - DO NOT INTERRUPT THE UPGRADE PROCESS!!! And, do it on only 1 PC until it's completed.

If you do this, you'll need to drop the new Frodo databases, and re-launch XBMC to kick off the database update again.

Finally finally FINALLY set XBMC up on my media machine last night, have been tinkering with it for ages. got the HP N40L set up a week ago and yesterday set about getting XBMC up and running, using Aeon MQ4 and I updated my graphics drivers it now seems to be a bit jumpy on the menu's which is annoying. May have to roll back. So happy with it though, art work all looks great for films and series, just got to sort music out and I am sorted!

For maximum lolz I decided to test how well the mysql setup works whilst mobile...

Obviously could do with my upstream bandwidth from home but other than that I'm surprised that it worked quite well !

Setup was simply : VPN->home { disable home default route }

Edit: If only there were hardware acceleration on android I would be all over this
