*** Official Kodi (née XBMC) Thread ***

I'm sure I could too but getting there is the issue ;)

There's no issue getting there either. Download SD card util and create, plug it in.
Boot Pi let it do its bit for 20 mins and grab a cuppa.
SFTP to Pi and copy over my advancedsettings.xml file.
Reboot Pi, library is there ready to work. I have quite literally never done any more than this.

if you upgraded from XBMC 11 (eden) to 12 (frodo), there was a change in the way images were stored. You could try deleting the file called texturesxx.db in the [appdata]/xbmc/userdata/database folder. Make sure xbmc is shut down.

Then when you start up it should start rebuilding that database, but it will take a while, and it only shows thumbnails as you browse through the library. So scroll through it fast and leave it for a while.

It could also be a skin issue. See if the images show up in the default confluence skin.

I did exactly that, 11 to 12.

I've deleted that file and my Movie images came back, but not TV. I always use the default skin too.

:(

I wonder if removing all the folders from the library and adding them back in would force a rescan and solve it?

Loving Aeon MQ5, it looks great and a nice move from Aeon Nox - but - the settings are all over compared to Nox. So many little submenus, side menus and hidden options built on top of one another. Spent 2 hours tweaking it to get it how I want.

Its a keeper though. MQ5->Nox->Confluence :)

Yep I've just got back from tweaking MQ5.... *like .... it's a lot leaner than the old bloated MQ series

It managed to lose my background for confulence so it's a keeper for me too

Many hi's to the RPi fanbois too ;)

It might. There's only one way to be sure!
Before taking such a drastic step, you could check in over at the xbmc.org forums and see if anyone there has a solution.

Some of you may recall my post a few pages back where XBMC would randomly be assigned a null and void IP address which borked all connection to internet and NAS. Even when assigning a static IP, the connection would still sometimes not be there and you just knew despite the static IP, it still somehow wasnt connecting properly.

I've narrowed it down - by turning off a network hub I have downstairs along with my HTPC, it then gets reassigned a normal IP again (or most of the time). What would cause this, just a network hub on its way out? The network hub currently only has one thing connected, which is the HTPC. It does have a spare patch cable hanging out ready for my Xbox One to be plugged in.

Thing is, this never used to happen with OpenElec 3.0, only since I upgraded to 3.2.3?

When you're in the Movie view mode, check you're viewing them in Sort by 'Title'

I use the 'BigFan' view mode

Yeah that's what mine's set to but that doesn't work:

Anyone have any ideas why the groups appear first and how to make them appear in alphabetical order?

Is your curre3nt box a hub, or a switch? If a hub, swap it out for a switch, or look into its configuration menus and make sure its ability to assign IP addresses (DHCP) is disabled.
That's all i can think of, off-hand.

Finally decided to bite the bullet (Very late to the party) and get myself a Pi.

Installed Open-ELEC on it last night, and was very suprised how super simple it was, and how well the Pi copes with it all, sure it is not ligtning fast, but not much delay too :)

Very impressed overall, time to pimp out all the other rooms with a XBMC on the Pi and sort out a NAS :D

Hmm, I've established its definitely related to the TP Link switch, as when I turn it off and back on it's issuing a correct IP. To be clear, this happens when the HTPC has been set to suspend and it then wakes and is issued a weird IP. When I restart the HTPC and switch, the switch then issues a correct IP.

How do I access the config menu of the switch?

The budget switches I've used are Unamanaged Switches: their configuration is fixed, and cannot be altered (unlike a hub or managed switch), so I've never had need to fiddle with them. They do work hassle-free, and cannot assign IP addresses to computers so the problem you're having doesn't arise.

You'll probably need to find the IP address of the switch, and access it in a web browser.
Look up the manufacturers site, they'll have a downloadable pdf manual.
