Switches are level 2 devices and don't have ip addresses. Only your router or yourself should be assigning ip addresses.
Yeah that's what mine's set to but that doesn't work:

Anyone have any ideas why the groups appear first and how to make them appear in alphabetical order?
Having mega gay issues with XBMC remote on both iPad and Android.
It's annoying, because, I got my iPad, enabled ZeroConf, and the chose "find xbmc" on the iPad remote, and it just worked. Then literally, two days later it said it couldn't find it anymore and hasn't been able to since. I tried also on my Android phone and that too fails to see it.
A lot of guides suggest that you still go through the settings of setup the port and username and password, but I can't see that being needed for LAN and certainly wasn't set up the first time I used it.
Any ideas?
Mega gay!! LOL
Try using this on your Android, seems to wok exceptionally well on mine.

Another excellent feature is being able to watch YouTube videos on your moile and then sharing it to your XBMC so it plays over the HTPC!
We'll I'm still having this issue with my setup, this is a last attempt to see if anyone can help before I sell up and go get a WDTV Live again.
Setup: WD 3TB NAS -> Virgin Superhub -> TP Link Switch -> Acer Revo RL70 (OpenElec 3.2.3 + XBMC Frodo).
Everytime I turn the Acer on from sleep it detects an IP of 169.254.213.235. This is a null and void address which doesnt exist. Turning off the TP Link switch and restarting the Acer usually then connects properly and takes an IP of 192.168.0.6 which then connects properly to both NAS and internet.
Tonight I'll be removing the switch from the setup and just trying with a direct link from Virgin Superhub to Acer Revo - to determine if its switch related or OpenElec related.
I have tried setting a manual IP instead of DHCP, the same happens as above, though it does state the IP is 192.168.0.6 but it doesn't connect.
Got a problem with my sound...
The sound setup can be a little confusing, I've found that when ever I move to a new system and setup XBMC for the first time the HD video will stutter and it's due to incorrect sound setup in the settings.
Try heading over to settings > system > audio output
Usually enabling 'output stereo to all speakers' and choosing the correct 'audio output device' is the best way to start for default audio output to identify/eliminate audio as the problem.
You will get much better performance with nfs, what is sharing the media?
