what skin is everyone using? i have been through a few and find aeon nox the best, but still its a little dark and moody, the one thing i really like is icons instead of text for the menu, just looks neater,

what is everyone else using?

Hello guys, i have XBMC setup to stream to my PS3, some content works flawlessly, plays Bluray's fantastic, but certain files say they cannot be played on my PS3 due to a DNS server error, anyone had issues like this?

i get the same message with some content im trying to play :(

Have bought myself a WD TV Live to ditch the ps3, too big for the space i have!

What's the best way of organising and displaying TV shows in XBMC that don't suit Series/Episodes? For example Derren Brown, I have a few of his shows from various series and most of the time the series or season they're from isn't really relevant. I also don't want 4/5 odd thumbnails for different series, but just one "Derren Brown" one.

Or maybe even just a "Misc" series thumbnail for things like random stand-up gigs and other TV one-offs.

Any ideas?

Quick one.

If I buy a USB BluRay drive to connect to my HTPC. Will I be able to play DVD's etc with it through XBMC?

I've never looked for DVD/BluRay control so I'm not sure :)

It should detect the drive, and offer it for use within XBMC.

For DVDs, it should be fine.

However, for Blu-Rays, you'll likely see no menus, and some discs may not even play, unless you use a 3rd party disc decryption software.

I've been having strange problems with xbmc recently.
The Simpsons has been on there since day 1 and has worked perfectly, however I removed all TV shows to put them back on and now the Simpsons never has correct episode data

Each episode will just say episode 1, each episode has an airing date of 31/12/1969

Is something wrong with the tvdb?

I've got an Intel 2120 CPU that has Intel HD 2000 graphics onboard. Would this be powerful enough to play my Blu-Ray mkv rips? If not, can anyone recommend a passive GPU.

Cheers

I wasn't planning on upgrading to 12.3, as the list of items "fixed" between 12.2 and 12.3 didn't seem relevant to me, but when I found the Margro prebuild, I thought I'd give it a punt!

No extra config required, just install over the top of 12.2, the installer is essentially identical to the vanilla installers.

Do you have your TV back-end on the same box as XBMC, or on a separate box? And what back-end are you using?

Interesting to hear from someone who uses Live TV on XBMC and doesn't use TVheadend as the backend. As that's what I do and over on XBMC forums that's therefore where I hang out......so have you ever tried TVheadend? wonder what kind of differences there are between the two. BTW are you running Argus on linux?

Argus is windows only (it's built in .NET), I can't speak for Confused but I use Argus as I have XBMC running on a Windows machine already.
