Gotcha.

What method can I use for generating the thumbnails on all clients?

At the moment mine share a central db, that's it.

Space / bandwidth isn't an issue, I'm happy for each one to have its own thumbnail cache as that seems faster than doing it over the network.

After brief testing it seems like only the primary client is automatically downloading all thumbnails. (when first adding to the library). Each other client is only getting the thumbnails when I browse each series/movie.

I've made 2x mini libraries for me to test with. A handful of movies and a handful of TV shows.

My media is purely video files, no nfo/jpg etc.

I've just added it to my netbook, using sources and advancedsettings. I'll just leave XBMC running over night and check it tomorrow to see if it's sorted out the thumbnails itself.

Thanks for your tips gents :)

I've been using XBMC for a while, on 3 machines in the house each with their own local DB. I've been using http://trakt.tv/, but the performance on the Pi is dreadful, takes about 5-10 mins to run a trakt update. It was time to do it properly.

I was wondering whether someone could point me in the right direction subtitle-wise??

I'm running OpenElec on my NUC and recently updated to Version 4.0.7 and while it's (seemingly) fixed my occasional crashing problem I've found that the "Download Subtitles" feature doesn't work any more!?!?!

I find this feature where it searches the net for the appropriate subtitles to be very useful - is there any way to get this functionality back?? (when I pause the playback and select it, nothing happens!)

Thanks...

Thanks, have sorted TV Catchup.

For recording, I was thinking along the lines of a TV capture card?

Also, is Netflix and Amazon Prime Video supported? I've tried a guide for Netflix but it doesn't seem to be in the repo?

Yea, using windows. Looks like it could be easier just hitting the windows key and launching the metro app for Netflix.

As for Amazon video, no metro app there but that's no surprise considering how awful amazon are at integrating with other companies tech, Google in particular.

Thanks.

XBMC is a Media Centre front end, not a server. You'd be better looking at something like Plex, I think there's a Samsung App for that.
