Glad you got it working. Just be aware that a lot of the older players don't add people to their lists anymore as they already have a lot of friends. The spreadsheet works best if you add a smattering of people from the list then add people you like playing with as you meet them online.

The regular posters here are generally the best to add as they're the ones who are more regularly playing but there are also a lot of newcomers at the bottom of the list who are desperately in need of friends.

I've barely tinkered with it yet, couldn't see where to add OcUk servers. I need to get a mic.

Have joine dthe ocuk conmmunity on steam and it now shows me games that are created by that cimmunity. I go to join any of them it loads to about 50/60% and then never finished loading. Pressing ESC just gives me a black screen so i literally have to crash out of it

Have you played either of the l4ds before? If not I'd do a few campaign 'quick matches' just to get a feel for the game and the maps.

get a mic, try and do a few campaign runs online with people. then hop on to vs and prepare to get destroyed

it's much better if you know the people you're playing with and you all have mics, typing "I'm pounced in the alley!!!" takes about as long as the hunter killing you

Also feel free to use our OcUK servers. To set them to always get chosen when you start up a game create a new autoexec.cfg file in the left4dead2 game directory and add the following line:

mm_dedicated_force_servers 94.23.222.136:29021,94.23.222.136:29025,217.163.30 .155:27015

Remove any spaces in the IPs above as otherwise you may get issues (The forum adds them or I would remove them).

You need to enable the developer console in the game settings. I'm not sure which tab it's under but it's fairly obvious if you have a look in there.

Try doing a quick verification of files and defragging the game cache.

Both can be found by right clicking the game in Steam, selecting properties and going to the local files tab.

Giving that a try now, weird that it only does it with ocuk servers :/

Haven't had any problems loading into them myself and haven't had others reported.

When there is a free slot on ocuk2 at some stage join it. It's a pub server so I can't really control whether you get kicked or not, but it'll at least help you find out if it's you or the server as they'll be others on there already.

Only thing I can think of is your trying to force a coop game onto the modded vs servers (OcUK 3-5), but even then it should still load. Things may just be more difficult than normal...

A lot of the old hands tend to have pre-arranged games so if you do manage to get into one you may be politely asked to leave as you will have most likely ninjad someones spot.

Playing with randoms can be a trying experience so you're best bet is to set up a lobby and get spamming the invites

playing pubs isn't all that awful, a lot of people are willing to listen IF you try and take control of the team.

A mic is the most useful bit of equipment in the game

True to a degree, but it gets pretty samey, don't get me wrong i'd buy Left 4 Dead 3 if they release it. But I got quite bored of this one some months ago now, after you've got all the achievments and played all the maps to death there isn't really anything new to do.

The only server that is slow at loading at mine is OcUK3 for l4d1 and I don't think you've ever been on there you cheeky get...

Nah don't think so. Occasionally an update may have caused them to load a little slower then it goes back to normal. Maybe that's what you are thinking?
