TAAAANNKKK! has really got me enjoying the game again i hope it stays as an permenant game mode.

Really enjoy how frantic it is, really dont care if you lose you just enjoy playing and its short so i can play a match in no time.

Hmm...

I thought it was fun as a laugh, and it would be nice to see it come back every once in a while. But, it's not permanent game-mode material. Far too much is down to luck (where the tanks spawn). Also, the game mode has no respect for button-push events. When you get to an event (waiting for the lift / raft etc) then the level is over. You just run like hell and hope you don't have a tank spawn too close to you.


Now versus survival on the other hand... What a fantastic game mode! THAT should be permanent

Took a while to find a decent content server, most were 100-200k/s but Belgium is much better now

getting Incomplete installation while trying to update

I updated the game the other day, but can't run it at all and keep getting the error message as the above user.

Game files verified without problem

Looking on steampowered forums it looks like we are not alone with this problem

anyone else getting severely screwed up fps on the sacrifice?

for some reason, the 1st and second chapters give me 25fps, no matter what gfx settings i use. the finale works fine (150-odd fps).

this is only on VS as well...

Same ******** problem here. Every time its gets updated I get this ffs...!!

Normally it goes away with a reboot or something but it just wont boot up now...Steam really is crap at times and the help section is useless.

that's what I'm getting now when I try to launch the game

I either get;

or


Incomplete installation of left 4 dead 2 (3)

Oh that might explain it... seems they put out a small update (32mb) but it didn't show till i restarted steam from boredom because nothing was launching.

It now tries to complete the installation for me, but then it gets to 1% and then back to the incomplete installation message

This has just appeared on the steam site

There is a known issue preventing Left 4 Dead 2 from launching. We are aware of the issue and actively working on a fix. This will usually appear as an "Incomplete Installation" error when attempting to launch the game.

If you are unable to launch L4D2, please wait patiently and refrain from submitting Support Tickets regarding the issue.

I've now realised why Valve are not releasing Episode 3, if they were to do it their entire server infrastructure would not only fall over but melt into a tiny puddle and then evaporate.
