I've now realised why Valve are not releasing Episode 3, if they were to do it their entire server infrastructure would not only fall over but melt into a tiny puddle and then evaporate.

Evaporate? I think its more likely to explode with the fire of a 1000 suns...

All fixed here now. Ran left 4 dead 2 and a box popped up saying completing installation which then went quite quickly to 100% and now I can play again

Either way I'm fairly certain they know Steam is doomed to a fiery death the moment EP3 goes live.

So will the steam forums. Every 2 seconds will be some post about how the game is late going live (for x hours until Valve time is over) followed by comments about how its not working because the servers broke ><

It was a stupid idea to try and play this soon after an update... there are no servers available at all.

Incomplete installation.

It's broken. No doubt they'll be to busy bringing out LFD3 to fix it.

Problem #1 : Left4Dead 2 error message “Incomplete Installation (35)”
Fix : make sure your firewall allows outbound TCP connections to port 27019 and 27031.

Well that was a strange game. Expert No Mercy (that i had to abandon due to net troubles) and Zoey was invisible... Her weapon, medkit and other items were there and whenever she moved behind something i'd get the outline of those instead of her.

yeah, intereshing shader bug. Yesterday all the blood splatters/rain drops/smoke clouds were duped in a grid. so many weird bugs with this update it's funny

This has just appeared on the steam site

There is a known issue preventing Left 4 Dead 2 from launching. We are aware of the issue and actively working on a fix. This will usually appear as an "Incomplete Installation" error when attempting to launch the game.

If you are unable to launch L4D2, please wait patiently and refrain from submitting Support Tickets regarding the issue.

FFs I thought it was me after spending 12 hrs d/l it on my 14mb line ! I deleted it and started again as I guessed it was corrupt.

It's actually a common issue after a l4d2 update, just keep trying for a few mins and it eventually works

Enjoying it immensely.

had the same installation problem on the patch.

Deleteing Client Registry.blob seemed to fix it for me.

2 servers should be running today, LTUK2 and LTUK3. Bit ill atm and busy at work as well, so haven't had time to do the others LTUK 1 is completely borked and needs a reinstall I think. Will sort out the other servers tonight.
