Sounds like either you're unlucky with pubs or I'm just lucky with pubs
Or I'm usually playing with friends.
Grrrr!! Played the following day on the OCUK server and Masai was there again and again when he defibbed someone it apeared that i was brought back from the dead and lost all my points, weapons, health packs etc.
Got another question reference buying stuff. When you buy health, weapons etc, they appear instantly, several times now i have bought tanks and witches and they don't appear. How does the tank/witch buying work?

does anyone know if there are any skins and sounds for the wepons? i really dont like the sounds of some of the weapons in this.

Unless OcUK have started their own servers unbeknown to me, or someone else has and has brought in a buying system, you canno0t buy weaponsm, witches, tanks or anything infact to use ingame. My servers (LTUK, listed on the OcUIK steam community page and at the beginning of this thread)) are totally unmodded, apart from Sourcemod, which is for admin purposes only. Haven't noticed the defib issue myself, but then we don't die very often...

I think i must be a total noob here!! The only servers i have added to L4Dead 2 are OCUK. When i load up the game in the left hand corner it gives me friends who are playing and in the right hand corner i get a list of servers, which when i click there are 4 or 5 that i can choose to play - i assumed these were all OCUK as like i said, they are the only ones i have added (or thought i had!)
I'm not home until Friday, so i'll have a closer look then; but **** knows what's happened!!

What happened? And what's ur user name?
If you were vokekicked then you would have been autobanned for 15 minutes (roughly), it's a feature built into the game.
If you remember names then let me know who was on there.

Must have been votekicked. Same name as here.
No idea who was on as I spawned in the middle of some carnage, got attacked by 20 zombies, took a couple of shots and got kicked.
My ping does spike a little whenever I join a server so it might have been that. Always settles into a decnot one after 10 seconds though.

The servers DO kick if you have some hacks installed, but they dont ban. Probably a Votekick.

SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT
LTUK server IPs have changed as we have moved to a new server. Ports are the same, but the new IP address is: 188.165.246.52. Servers not yet running but hopefully they soon will be.
This does not affect LTUK 3 however as it is seperate, as such it remains the same IP address as before.

I have a psychological problem with L4D2.. please help!
This is my standard L4D2 "cycle"...
- Return to L4D2 for a quick game after weeks of not playing due to life/another game.
- Have an amazing first "vs" game and I'm all: "WOW playing L4D2 again is awesome! Such a great game - so fun! Why did I stop playing all those weeks ago?". End evening satsified with a great game of L4D2.
- Next day: Join 1st game with some crappy mod/cfg with loads of people, perks and crazy poo I don't want to see. No problem... I'll just quit and find another server. Join 2nd sever - same thing... OK pretty annoying. Join 3rd sever - "your team's score: 108, enemy team's score 1748"... great team full o tards. Play for 5 mins but then just rage because can't handle my teammates tarded gameing skills. Same thing over and over. Try joining a lobby... never fills up, people join then leave. Boring.
- Consider uninstalling L4D2 because I've wasting 2 hours of my life searching for a decent game without success.
What am I doing wrong??? I consider myself to be reasonable at the game... I used to play L4D competitive mixes. Why is it so hard to get a good game? I know I should just "play with steam friends" but I don't have enough to see them constantly in game.
In summary, when L4D/L4D2 is good - it's GREAT! When it's not, it's ****!! Would you agree?

Thing being, you need to know people for a game. You are right. If I ever play L4D2 on my own by clicking Quick Match or joining a public lobby, I full expect a turd game in which I will mostly take the michael for the lols. It's obvious enough if you are against a pre-made pretty quickly. At that point give up or try elsewhere, or **** about like I do
It's very hard to get a decent game now with an organised team. Regardless if you pub stomp, play Team VS or random publics. I'd say its 50% either way. Can be good, can be tough.
I've played games where we as a team are anhilating but everyone stays because its fun, everyone fools around and plays the game for what it is.
The amount of Rage Quitting is rife in this game. Even with Team VS. Hell, even if you are against another team, and it's equal skilled and equally matched throughout, I've had people leave for the smallest of reasons. Had one recently where we played anotehr team on Parish and it was tight for the first 3/4 maps. Really good stuff. We were ahead by only a few points.
We beat the tank on the near finale map and they didn't. As a result they all raged before the end. Even though it was anyone's game to be had!!
It's a fact of life with the game, you just gotta negate it as much as possible and take the rough with the smooth. That's about it really!

I sort of gave up with this game, i'd love to get back into it again but I always find it takes 30 minutes to find a game and then within 5 minutes some or all of the other team has quit, leaving you no option but to return to the lobby. I swear I've spent more time in lobbies lately than actually playing the game which I found really tedious.

Yeah its a great game when it works but its so hard to get a complete match sometimes.
Versus sometimes feels like you're the only 1 on your team who isn't incompetant and its always heavily biased.
Team Versus is even worse sometimes when you get people who just quit after the first 2 rounds and worse still when they hang around till halfway through the 3rd of 4th then quit if you make it.
