seems like you can run L4D maps, some mats fail on load but thats cause i havent copied them from the L4D install, But we have a L4D2 server running hospital vs

I think it would be more interesting having a L4D server running parish

How does one go about conecting to these servers? I am an ill informed noob in need of education.

open console and type

connect 87.117.194.30:27018

or if you want to start a lobby, open console

mm_dedicated_force_servers 87.117.194.30:27018

then start a lobby, when you hit go it will force it onto that server, chance the ports accordingly

Assuming that it's not broken, you can also use 'sv_search_key ocuk' in the console to connect to one of our ocuk steamgroup servers.

I must have been lucky this morning then. I had no problems at all getting logged in (slightly slower than usual), then a quick decrypt and straight into a versus game !

Brilliant thanks all, I joined the group recently and will sort out this console command malarky when I get home.

If you want to always force it to look for certain servers to force join to, browse to the following folder

\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\cfg

and open up or create a file called autoexec.cfg and add the following line

mm_dedicated_force_servers iport

you can specify as many or as few as you like, it will go down the list till it finds one that's empty, just remember to separate the iports with a comma

Took steam about 15mins for me to "Scan for game updates". But at least is working now and not going to take 2 days
