**** Official LG G4 Discussion Thread ****

I ordered the LG G4 from mobile phones direct. Lets see if its any good.

Free delivery and quick too by the looks of it, faster than mine :s (though arrives on same day if you ordered today). Keep us updated of your experience mate, if MPD is good, then we can recommend it for folks who haven't got theirs yet.

My G4 case I ordered from Amazon arrived in some surprising packaging. Looks premium though I only paid £10 for it XD I've now got a feel for the size of the phone and it's a bit bigger than my S4. Seems like I can't use it one handed :s I'd take a picture, but it's nothing without the phone itself.

I was reading through all of the 980ti and AMD flagship hype threads when I got a knock on my door. A royal mail package... only on ething it could be, even though I thought it would arrive tomorrow. I open up the package and get a bit worried. For some reason it came with a EU plug to UK AC adaptor.

So expecting something to be a bit off, I open up the case and see the sweet Gold of the phone. The picture doesn't show it off well, but the Gold is a bit 'light'. I don't mind though. I poked a spec of red cardboard off of it and cringed as a fingerprint appeared... and then disappeared. What a relief.

So... the big question. Why did they include the adaptor and does it include the headphones, which I was specifically told by Handtec themselves, that it wouldn't be included.

Sweet relief! Times two since the phone did come with the correct UK plug adaptor. Which doesn't matter much to me since I charge my phone via USB and I already have spare USB to AC adaptors. I guess Handtec were worried and gave me an adaptor just in case. So after all that, I'm very happy with Handtec's service, even if they didn't know what was inside of the box. So... I recommend Handtec for buying a G4. They'll give you an extra unnecessary plug adaptor, but it's all fine.

Looking through the posts and all, I think that all EU retail versions of the G4 come with Quadbeat 3 headphones. Though one review on Amazon showed screenshots of another headset all together. I'll try them out on the S4, since I can't be bothered to set up the G4 right this moment. I'll wait for the screen protector before it becomes my daily driver.

Pictures were taken rather rushed on my Galaxy S4 on auto. Room was a bit dim too, so apologies for the quality. And the size, I don't upload images much and I don't know if the forums are compatible with dropbox. Just click them to enlarge.

Looking forward to using this phone for daily use. Only downside so far is the size, but I just have small hands.

Edit: The quickstart guide comes in a neat little red envelope. So sweet. I swear I love the packaging more than the phone itself right now.

:p

I make no promises yet! It will take a mighty stronghold to part with the Z3!

So I've had an afternoon with the phone and despite it's big screen and good camera I'm not feeling it.

It's a tad slower than the Z3 and I'm missing the ease of use of the Z3 and the additions that Sony have baked into the software.

Early days yet but this phone might not last the course.

Yeah, I'm really not into the big screen. Funny thing, a month or two ago I was expecting to buy a Z4 when the S6 turned out to not be my cup of tea. I sort of went with this G4 on the rebound, when the Z4 was said to be Japan exclusive. Sony delayed the Z3+ (Western Z4) a bit too long since it releases after my contract finishes. I guess I could have gone SIM-only on for the wait on the old S4, but I was too caught up in the G4 hype.

Time will tell if I made the right choice with this phone. I will be slightly gutted if the Z3+ comes out, is a good phone and is cheaper than the G4.

I knew it!

Why I went with S6 edge , had a g3 and was a big mistake. This S6 is still as fast as the day I had it and plus I hate on screen buttons just wastes screen space.
