*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

I know their loyalty determines who survives, but the point is that because I never have enough paragon or renegade points to use those conversation options when miranda and jack fight, I am forced to lose one of their loyalty, and miranda is a far more useful character so I always side with her. Despite leaving jack to hold off with the rest of the team she still dies simply because she isn't loyal. I see no way around it other than making a near fully paragon/renegade character which I don't want to do.

The fight triggers once you've done the loyalty missions for both. So perhaps leave one of their loyalty missions until you've naturally accumulated more renegade or paragon points.

Anyone getting crashes with this - every time I try and use the charge biotic power the game crashes. Have updated to the latest Physx but no change.

This loyalty thing is absolutely retarded. Why should the loyalty of your chums affect their chances of getting their head blown off by giant cockroaches?

You would think that if they were loyal to you then they might be more likely to die doing something bold, heroic and stupid. When I saw the whole loyalty thing I was fully expecting a mission where some of your buddies turn on your at a critical point in the story.

I lost Cali due to siding with the Geth thing and when she died I was kind of sad and angry. WHY hadn't the game warned me? HOW was I supposed to know that she was going to die? I thought about reloading and doing that section again but then (and I have never done this) decide that it wouldnt be in the spirit of things and carried on with the story.

What a game!

To be fair, the game *DOES* warn you on load screens, basically mentioning that loyalty affect their morale and stuff.

I completed the game, and everyone survived :D

*EDIT*

ALSO, your selections make huge differences. Leaving Zaeed, grunt and the like back to guard the doors for example is going to work far better than taking them with you and lowering the squads "hold the position" chances.

She probably died because you picked a poor fire squad leader. I picked Garrus as nobody had a beef with him and he was an ex-squad leader(ok they all died...). Everyone lived, even that **** Zaeed.

How are you guys doing it with everyone surviving? Every time I've played through the game I never have enough paragon or renegade points to use either of them in the miranda/jack face off and as I always side with miranda jack has died 3 times now as the only member of my squad to die each time.

I sided with Miranda and Jack still lived lol

Im about 4 hours into this game and I must say its the best game I have ever played. Beats Mass Effect 1 easily and better than KOTOR.

Plus it looks great all maxed out at 1920x1080 4XAA and 16AF!

I've got a decent spec PC and an Xbox, so which is the better version?

The graphics don't look much better in the comparison videos and although I'm usually a fan of keyboard & mouse combo I really enjoyed both Bioshock and Oblivion on the pad and playing on my big ole TV.

Am leaning towards the 360 version so I can kick back but PC version is cheaper and I can enable AA etc. so what would you say is the best option?

Cheers.

As someone pointed out, its not just the "mission" you are getting, its the use of another character through another playthough.

Percieved value is low and for this very reason which is why people are slating it - but I'll be picking it up when I play through the game again just to add a bit more variety to another run.

The best fire team leaders to pick are miranda and jacob, one of whom I always choose. It's purely down to the fact that I don't have jacks loyalty, because she is the only one who dies.

I'm still slowly making my way through this, but just wanted to say that I have taken a real shining to Mordin and his story-line (did his loyalty mission last night). I love the story-telling/characterization in ME2! :D

You don't have to play it do you? Basically importing your characters into multiplayer to play against over people.

It's not like my post is going to attract the attention of Casey Hudson is it?

No what it would do is take attention away from making the main game even better just to put on a half arsed multiplayer.

If they'd spent half as much time balancing Bioshock 2 properly so it wasn't just a carbon copy of Bioshock 1 instead of doing the multiplayer, the singleplayer would've been a hell of a lot better.
