*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

When the game's finished you're dumped back to the galaxy map and so can finish up anything you've missed, play DLC etc.

When you start a new game you can load up any post final mission save and import that Shepard. You keep your level, armour and weapons (except for the Locust SMG you get under the Kasumi DLC for some reason and you don't get to choose another weapon specialisation on the collector ship).

Of course you can only do this if Shepard survives the suicide mission

Edit: oh and the plot is reset, so it's as if you were starting the game fresh.

So the same class as well?

Hmmmm, tempting, however I want to play another class...

Might I add this is the first game I have wanted to replay in a while.

It's that good lol.

Well, thankfully I save regularly, so reverted back to a save before I did the IFF.

Oddly, it was the only time I didn't save for ages, so had to do Jacob and Tali's loyalty missions again, and unfortunately I rushed Tali's and didn't talk to anyone before saving the ship so didn't have the option of getting the crowd on my side so now she is exiled :(

But, I now have enough time to do what ever so it's all good, finished that hacking mission on Illium, was fun :D

I think she got exiled for me too, even though I used all the paragon choices and I spoke to everyone.

Is it possible for her not to be exiled?

Yeah if you talk to everyone you can reply to their questions during the trial by saying that the case isn't about Tali, but the admirals' bickering and warmongering. Tali is then exonerated.

You can also have Veetor and Kal Reegor speak on her behalf (or rally the crowd, I forget). Although, you must not have allowed Cerberus to "question" Veetor after Freedoms Progress, and Kal must survive Haestrom.

So keep the station or blow it up? What did we all choose?

Personally I went with keep it, my character was a paragon the whole way through, but I just think that it made sense given the reaper threat.

Funnily enough I did the exact same thing at the end of ME1 - i.e. choose the renegade ending, despite being a paragon - told the fleet to hold and not save the council as they would be needed to destroy Saren's ship.

They destroy it anyway, it's basically a way for the humans to take charge of the galaxy.

Well, it sounds dodgy to me, but I'm going to let Martin Sheen keep it this time around, as part of my renegade run through. I'd also been a complete ass to the Council in ME 1, so letting 'em get blown up was just another big joke for my character. ;)

At the rate I'm going I should just be able to max out that red bar this time. Once you overcome your squeamishness, being bad is so much funnier. :D

If your team aren't all loyal, people can die in the last mission. Get them all chummed up. I lost one :/
Thats the main thing that annoyed me. My Paragon play through, fine I made chums with everyone, but my on my Renegade play through I didn't want too - however given that it will effect ME3, I probably would want to see the conclusion in the new game so chummed up anyway :/.

Yeah i wish Bioware didn't give every single bit of info away, it should have been a surprise imo. Kind of forces you to make decisions you don't want to.

Well yes but it depends what you associate as 'Renegade'. Bioware clearly make both roles a Soldier/Leader who cares about his squad and will help them out if required, the difference is in the ways they go about it. I mean really you could say a Renegade wants his team loyal so they'll die for him if required or for his own personal gains or whatever.

Its obvious the game will seem restrictive if you went into Renegade with the assumption of slagging off teammates and effectively telling em to stick it where the sun don't shine.
