*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

Speaking of which, i really should get a character to lvl30 :p

Might be easier if i took my completed Soldier (if i still can) and started on Insanity. See how things go. Though i must admit i'd starting to see the strength of the Infiltrator on it. That Cloak is just awesome.

Great fun cloaking, overloading an enemies shield, cryoblasting him then punching his frozen body to death p

As I've said before, Garrus, Tali and Liara are all that matter. Stick the rest in the collector tubes. :D
Hrm I'm tempted to have another run through ME2, with a Female protagonist this time. Not sure if I should force myself to play through the clunkiness of ME1 beforehand this time though...

I dread to think how many times I've played through Mass Effect 1, but now I have to do it on PC.

I've got my Paragon Male Shepard up to level 40(ish). Yesterday I found some funky new red armour, mentally powerful guns and some new quite serious ammo types. With these new toys I had the Saren fight on Virmire over in less than 5 seconds.

Whenever I finally finish this run through, I'll have to do it again with a bad ass Fem Shep. :( Still, Jennifer Hale's dialogue makes that worth while.

ME3 got annouced for "holiday 2011"

Although Crysis 2 got announced for "holiday 2010" and here we are waiting for a march 26th 2011 release.

so hopefully we'l see ME3 by march 2012 latest..... fingers crossed.

Well i just got through with punching the reporter on the Citidel :p Shame i couldn't import an ME1 character that had done it too.

On that topic, the shadow brokers video footage of the reporter interviewing a Krogan and getting punched is hilarious :D

Hmm, seems you can reach lvl30 in 1 playthrough now with all the DLCs. Pretty sure you were just short before. Still got a couple of anomolies, 4 Loyalty missions and the IFF to get yet and i'm lvl27.

Seriously how did i ever manage with the Tempest SMG? I finally picked it up on the Tali recruitment and was forced to use it for a bit and it is so incredibly bad compared to the Locust.

Having lost my save from ME1 and ME2 I am playing ME2 through again ready for ME3 (couldn't be bothered to go all the way back to ME1 - not sure I could take that much tension!). A few things have changed from my original ME2 playthrough (using my ME1) save and this playthrough - the two largest being the fact that the Rachni queen is now dead (I originally saved her) and apparently I killed Wrex (his brother is now in charge) - seem like kind of random "default" decisions.

Phalanx heavy pistol, Geth plasma shotgun and Mattock battle rifle are from the Firepower DLC.
Locust SMG is from the Kasumi DLC and is leagues better than the crappy Tempest.
Revenant, Claymore and Widow are the 3 you get to choose from on the Collector ship.

I must say that Firewalker DLC was so incredibly tedious... the only level that even involved shooting stuff was so pointless since they made you do it 5 times for the sake of it, almost the same each time.

Shadow Broker was pretty good, and its building on ME2 for ME3 so worth playing through. Plenty of upgrades to get hold of, lots of funny sidebits you can read/watch and some good fights.
Overlord was a great DLC, genuinly creepy in places. The platfoming was very random.
Kasumi was great also but quite short. I've been taking her along a fair bit since her Shadow Strike is just funny and her (Improved) Flashbang has such a stupidly large radius you can just strip armour/shields/barrier from everything quickly then incapacitate them all for a bit with its giant radius. The Locust SMG is just the icing on the cake.
Firepower DLC is something you may aswell just pick up (400+560 BW points for Broker + Firepower). Phalanx Heavy Pistol is pretty good. Damn powerful, seems to be able of stripping armour and shields from basic enemies (on Hardcore) in a single shot. Geth Plasma Shotgun i've not had chance to use but its supposadly quite good for squadmates since its better at longer range. Mattock is a headshotting machine though i've not had chance to use it myself.

400+560+560+560 will get you all of them for roughly £17. You may aswell get the Firepower pack if you're going for Shadow Broker since its only an extra £1.20ish.

I absolutely loved the first Mass Effect and has to one of my favourite RPGs.

I enjoyed the sequel but did anyone get the feeling when playing through the game that it felt more like an expansion rather than a full sequel?

right i think im ready for a second play now after 12 months :D

I started as a Vanguard and saved all the people and ship, didn't bang a chick (was going for maranda but didnt happen) so i kept my relationship with Ashley the racist from the first game (hope this ties into ME3) did all this by accident as i didn't even know anyone could die :D

so im going to start a woman shep, What class hould i try? Also because i completed all the side quests and little things in my main play i think im going to just steam through it

An expansion? It has 30 hours of gameplay average where the vast majority of it is spent actually playing rather than ****ing around on planets in the Mako.

Infiltrator is damn good fun. Funny when your team gets themselves killed and all enemies basically stop dead when you cloak so you get plenty of time to shoot them in the face with a Widow. Adept is great fun on the lower difficulties where your skills can actually effect everything.

Does anyone have all their achievements unlocked? including the dlc.

If so can you upload the Player1.prf I forgot to back mine up AGAIN, it contains the achievements. -.-

It's in the documents/bioware/mass effect 2/biogame/profile folder.

Probably best to ask on bioware forums. :P
