*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

An expansion? It has 30 hours of gameplay average where the vast majority of it is spent actually playing rather than ****ing around on planets in the Mako.

Sadly the Mako was more fun than shooting probes at planets. I just managed to drag myself through the last bit of Mass Effect 2, i was surprised the last mission was actually really fun. Shame it was the only fun mission. I didnt find any other part very fun. All felt a bit bland. Hopfully ME3 will be more like the end bit of ME2.

Just wondering, when people imported their ME1 chars into ME2 (I chose to start a new one), so that your choices carried over, did you still get to change your characters class/appearance?

Adept is great fun on the lower difficulties where your skills can actually effect everything.

Try adept on insanity.

I've 100%'d ME2 on Insanity with my Adept, and I swear to god, at some parts have never ever raged so hard, I wanted to throw my keyboard across the room, but ended up just bashing it on the desk a few times.

Yes you do, but it will happen after the Normandy is attacked at the start of the game.

That's not too much of a spoiler.

Yep, overall I enjoyed playing Mass Effect 2 but I only really enjoyed the beginning of the game and the last mission. In between that, it just felt like moving around the universe and recruiting your crew for the last big battle towards the end.

Maybe because I enjoyed the 1st so much, the sequel was never going to live up to my high expectations.

Still looking forward to the 3rd game though as Bioware do consistantly make decent RPGs.

lol don't worry I'm on my third playthrough. Was simply asking so I know whether or not I'll be able to change class when I port this char to ME3 :D

They will most likely overhaul the classes again so i wouldnt bet against a class change option for imported characters in me3

No the parts where you got out of the Mako to clear out yet another identical looking 'stronghold' or 'research base' or 'mine' was more fun than shooting probes at planets. But most of the Mako exploration was just driving around aimlessly looking for ways to get over obsurd objects because physics didn't really exist. At least you can edit your save file to give you plenty of minerals so you don't have to bother doing that. Calling it an expansion is a joke.

I have, i started a new game on Insanity as Adept after my Soldier got his ass handed to him on Freedoms Progress. I've only come across 1 almost completely impossible fight and thats the Collector ship ambush, so much so i ragequit the game the first time. Think i eventually completed that fight but i definitely haven't completed the game. Saying that though i imagine if i had the Locust SMG that fight would've been much easier. Problem is almost none of your skills are useful until you've stripped away armour/shield/barrier which really makes things a bit less enjoyable.

Gonna try Soldier again though, see how things go this time. Just have to complete this Hardcore Infiltrator. 67 points off Lv30, checking the galaxy incase i missed an anomoly (might be 1, or i've done em all), got Jack and Jacobs loyalty missions left then i've got an IFF to get hold of. Hoping to keep everyone alive this time so i wanna get as much Renegade as possible before i have to break up the fights between crew members.

Any idea how much Renegade you need in the fight between Morinth and Samara? Was looking at the wiki and it seems you can choose who to aid if you passed that, though i have pretty damn high Renegade and it wasn't enough.

So where the **** you download this cerberus network card DLC from then?

I have the code activated but cant find no place to download the content from on web or in game??

That's an interesting point. I wonder what they'll do to Cmdr Shepard this time to reduce his skills to nought.

He's part cybernetic, some bizarre virus? Who knows tbh. Hopefully it won't be horribly convoluted ><

Yeah that Bioware site is absolutely horrible to use. I went everywhere i could and still couldn't find the damn link to download stuff. Got it saved on favourites now incase i need it (though in the likelihood i do need it i'll have lost all my favourites too so some use that'll be :p).

How much of a step up in difficulty from veteran (which is **** easy for me) to insanity?

Going to have a crack after i finish Lair of the Shadow Broker which should see me hit level 30.
