*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

a) Why are the screenies so big?
b) Why are they are of Dead Space in a Mass Effect thread?
c) Why is the language Russian?

:p

I'm sure its the 2nd time angela has posted in the wrong thread in this 1 ><

I RTMd it anyway, clearly belongs in the screeny thread...

^^ LoL, yep, me stake, seems like talking on a phone and posting in forums at the same time, not what I can do.

as to Russian, This is language I know too)

Yeah it was a bit of an anti-climax. It fit an all that but it just didn't seem to be a very good fight. Just a sorta generic "gigantic, oversized boss fighting players on a small island" type fight.

Just finished ME2 after finishing ME1 back in December. Yeah was pretty nice, not sure if I liked it as much as ME1, but still a very good game and really well made.

The last mission, after all the build up was a bit disappointing for me though, didn't have any proper tension or substance to it, just walk down a corridor shooting things before having your way with the giant spoiler at the end. I know they did all the stuff with loyalty and other things effecting it, but given that I had done everything important I came across it just didn't have that kick to it.

Still of course being the middle of the trilogy the important bit is where we go to now (though I guess we kinda know now since the trailer :)), ME3 should be great!

I decided to take the Revenant to see how it went.

Good fun being able to spray n pray things and shower enemies with a hail of bullets but i eventually got bored and went back to the Mattock w/ Inferno Ammo. It was amusing unloading 80 bullets at enemies in what seemed like an unlimited amount of ammo but it really didn't work on Insanity over precision killing. Even with the targetting VI upgrade it was still horribly inaccurate with massive recoil.

I'm not a fan of the first boss on the Shadow Broker DLC... constant biotic attacks that can knock you out of cover, constant teleporting making you need to change position every 5 seconds and the absolutely ridiculous amount of health, armour and barrier (and that was just on Hardcore) broken up rather pointlessly by attacks by Engineers or Drones. The rest of its great though.

I rather liked that one, but it depends on the powers you have and which companions, I was fortunatly well setup to counter her and made for a great fight using time dilation powers to max effect, etc. slowly cornering her, anticipating, etc. until I had the upper hand to finish her off.

Can't really describe it but it was pretty epic with lots of last minute saves, cycling between myself and the other 2 taking her on then when pushed to the edge duck and cover as the next one step in to take her attention.

I've seen a damage test on youtube and the vindicator assault rifle(the one with a small clip) almost outdamaged the revenant even when shep had to reload, this was against a 500 shield ai hacked geth. The other rifles dont even get a look in.

Probably didn't include the Mattock, though its dependant on range more than anything.

Still, can't say it was the best of weapons. Widow i know is obscenely powerful but i've not had chance to try out the Claymore yet. Might take it when i play through as a Vanguard. Though the Geth Plasma Shotgun has some serious power behind it if you fire it in Heightened Adren Rush at close to mid range, more so if its fully charged.

No recoil with adrenaline rush though. Very useful for killing a room full of enemies quickly.

The vindicator is a great weapon, but runs out of ammo to easily.

On Normal or Veteran maybe but on Hardcore/Insanity? It may lose its recoil under Adren Rush but its still incredibly inaccurate. You struggle to kill more than 2 enemies in that time and thats assuming they were close-mid range and out in the open (and probably got there defences stripped by allies too). It was good fun on Talis recruitment mission to spray n pray Geth with Disruptor Ammo but it was still nowhere near as deadly as a Heightened Adren Rush with the the Mattock since you can just headshot spam everything without a limitation on range. Especailly when a Shotgun is clearly better for closer range fighting.

having a bit of a problem docking to any sort of port.. tried to get onto the Prison Ship and the Citadel and every time i click "Dock" it just takes me back to the main galaxy screen... any ideas why?

Strange. Could be connected to the annoying problem you get on the combat menu where you select a power and grabs 1 nowhere near the 1 you selected. Try right clicking on the 'back' button then pressing dock.

Just bought the Aegis/Firepower/Equalizer packs for my third playthrough. Where do you find them in-game? Are they at the shops or do they go straight into your armory?
