** Official Mayhems Development Log **

Hi Mick,

Just wondering if you have any feedback for the clear Alphacool Ultraflexibel tubing? I bought a couple of meters to use with my 8mm Bitspower fittings.

It's labelled "Alphacool Ultraflexibel 16187"

Also wondering, is isopropyl any good for removing printed text from tubing?

Cheers

Ah ok, thanks for the quick reply. I bought it hoping it'll be ok with XT-1. I'm not sure if it's just the way the tubing is manufactured or a sign of being crap but the inside
looks a bit wavy and bumpy in places.

I'll probably just go with it and see how I get on.

Hi Mick,
I have a question for you if i may..
I recently started watercooling my rig and went well with no problems, i'm using your THARSIS Red coolant.
My problem is i've barely had it setup for just over a week today and already the coolant has lost it's effect, it just looks flat now.
Is this normal? it's a simple loop with just the cpu being cooled.
Thanks
David

Hi
Can you list the parts in your cooling loop. I ran the red aurora for 4 mnth before it started to drop out (it was all in my bottom rad 240-360 2xgpu tube res and d5)

aurora isn't an everyday fluid - it's for display / taking photos of only
some people get lucky with high flow loops and it lasts longer

you'll need to list out every component in your loop for anyone to have an idea as to which one(s) might be causing the problem

Ok thanks andy, this is my loop.
XSPC 7/16" ID [16/11mm] High Flex Hose - Clear [1m Length]
XSPC EX120 120mm Radiator - Black
XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump (Black) V4
XSPC G1/4" to 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD Compression Fitting (Black Chrome)
EK-Supreme LTX AMD - Acetal+Nickel CSQ - AMD Waterblock
Mayhems Aurora - Tharsis Red Coolant 1L

Hi
It will be your bay res/pump thats the problem. Mayhems dont recomend bay res pump combos, the Aurora flakes will have settled in there somewere.

Sorry its been late answering, I lost my password and tried 5 times to recover it and emailed ocuk with no response so set up a new account instead.

The XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump is a cheap peace of kit and will never run aurora correctly. Personally if i was you id get a decent pump and res any way and forget that.

Hi

Have just bought the XSPC Raystorm 750 RS360 Kit from OC.

I was advised that i could just use Mayhems H2O in it, I now know its not that simple, ah well can use it for flushing the system prior to use.

Im looking for a performace coolant, not too worried about looks. But also dont want to be changing it out every 9-12 months.

Looking at the details on the OC website Mayhems Ice dragon seems to be the best fit for performace and lifespan.

Are there any better mayhems options for these requirements? Has anyone used Ice dragon for 2 years without changing out and confirm will be ok with no gunk buildup, corrosion etc?

Will 1 Litre be enough for this kit?

Thanks

Mayhems h20 is fine in that kit just not aurora. Personally though id use either X1 or XT1 not just h20 but again you will need to change out every 9 to 12 months.

The best advise i can give you is swapping out you fluid ever 9 to 12 months is like cleaning out you house after a year long party. If you don't do it some thing will eventually fail. If you go water cooling you must also take up the responsibility of looking after it. If you look after it, it will look after you.

Water cooling isn't just for christmas and birthdays its for life :)....

I don't know how much fluid for that kit sorry.

lmao :D

Thanks for that.

Ah well, if i work on that theory probably give me an excuse to add my graphics into the loop when its due for a clean.

I know X1 is vegetable based and XT1 Glycol based, other than freezing temp how does the performance differ between the two?

Take it Ice dragon wont really benifit my basic setup?

Thanks

I use Mayhems Pastel red and everytime i change anything i just drain it and use again. I dont think there ia a lot of difference in temps with any mayhems fluid. Have used X1 and Aurora now just stick with pastel (nicer effect than transparent fluid)

Wow thats mesmerising, almost looks like clouds moving about in the res!!

Quick question for you Mayhems guys...

Decided to foray back into coloured fluid with clear tubing, currently have clear X1 in the system, how essential is it I get all of the X1 out of the system? As I have a large 4 component, 4 radiator loop I'm bound to end up with a little bit still in the loop. I plan to refill with some Pastel.
