**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Has anyone noticed the 747 on V-NAV & L-NAV seems to sway about the flight path and never seem to stay on the line? Everytime I check my MFD it's either left or right of the line!

Had my first sortie in the 747 this evening, out of Tenerife South. After initial attempt at take off crashed into a hillside outside Playa De Las Americas, on the second attempt got airborne and engaging the AP, yes it doesn't always seem to track in a straight line at least when picking up a new waypoint.

Benchmark/Review plus some comparison images, to me medium looks just like high and ultra.

Up close very similar indeed, draw distance is what really changes - look further into the distance when comparing and you'll see the difference more clearly, even between high and ultra. For example in the screenshots on page 5 there comparing high/ultra look just a bit below the horizon as you move the slider and you'll see a whole load of buildings popping into/out of view.

Right, now that I have it up and running again, are there any (good) tutorials for the a320 AP and MCDU about anywhere?

I have zero interest in flying pressurised cigar tubes, so what helos, warbirds and fast jets are in this?

Nothing as yet... Helos will apparently be DLC, and I think you'll need time for third parties for warbirds/fast jets. There are definitely a few of the latter in development.

@vergojones - FMGC and autopilot are a little sketchy in this game at the moment. Is there anything particular you want to know or just looking for a general overview? If the latter then seems this guy might have you covered https://www.youtube.com/user/filanjix

Anyone got it on a similar setup to mine ? If so how’s it run ?

also is it a giant install ? I read the map was rendered on your bandwidth or something via bing ?

Just want to add my experience ! Don't be fooled in to thinking you need to have 60 FPS to enjoy this game because you don't its not a Shooting game , I have the game set at 4K and have everything on Ultra and it runs great and still feels smooth , try it ...... I am using 1080ti 32gb DDR4 and i7 8700k. Averaging out about 25-30 FPS

I'm on a 980ti and R72700X, and I get about 30-40fps out of the heavy areas with a mixture of medium, high and a couple ultra settings (1440p). In busy and big airports in a 747 I have seen sub 10fps. Charles de gaulle seems to be the worst (I can take off from Heathrow at like 25fps in an A320), but generally speaking it's very playable once you're in the air, and especially if you aren't in a big jet.

It's about 100GB all in, and then you set a rolling cache for streamed areas (defaulted to 8GB for me).
